Ben Dela-Peña, (www.myspace.com/djbendelapena) resident DJ at UP^^, part of the Sedition DJs crew and a regular at venues like Pacha, Ministry of Sound and Turnmills, returns this month with his ZIPCODE party at PLAN-B with the help of fellow resident Carl Johnston & Joe Cullen…special guests are Welfare for the Digital and Oliver Lang (Dusted / Bora Bora)
ZIPCODE continued their phenomenal 2006 with their first party for 2007 back in February. It was kick started in style with HOUSE FM Brad 212 Finlay and DJ Lil’ Lucy-a big thank you is deserved! Once again the ZIPCODE crew return with their bi-monthly residency at the exquisite PLAN-B venue, a rugged industrial design but sexy interior feel décor with comfortable lounge areas, a solid dance floor, unique lighting system which is surrounded with the best in Funktion One sound System to give that all important ‘club atmosphere’.
ZIPCODE very special guest on the night is none other than OLIVER LANG (DUSTED / BORA BORA). Oliver has made a name for himself in the U.K but even more internationally over the last 5 years, technically for his DJ skills on the CDJs and tight layered mixing which has gained huge admiration from other DJs. His hard work is also paying off on the production side, teaming up with Austrian producer Sergio Flores with 2 tracks on Tenor Records (You Don’t Know & I Call It House) and two tracks on J-Funk Recordings with Jason Herd as well as remixing for Jamiroquai’s Dynamite album. A big player and regular face on the Ibiza club circuit, playing the likes of El Divino, Amnesia, Privilege and his hot residencies for Dusted @ EDEN & the infamous BORA BORA beach. He has also just finished a tour of Asia/Australia in January 2007 which definitely cemented his status as one of the most exciting DJs to watch. Oliver Lang truly is the future of our scene!
If you haven’t seen him play then this is the perfect time to catch one of the most demanding DJs out there before his summer residencies abroad! Plan-B and Brixton will be getting hectic! Check his myspace (www.myspace.com/djoliverlang).
Also on the night we have the talented duo of Welfare for the Digital: ‘happiness broadcast through a digital medium’. They are Ben Francis and Martin Holden. For the past 2 years these guys have been smashing the dance floors of the UK’s most discerning nightclubs with their Electro House sets. After playing underground clubs and after-parties around the UK, they’ve now taken London by storm and hold residencies at the Ministry of Sound and at the SLAANG Secret Warehouse parties as well as appearing regularly at Turnmills. They’ve already supported Pete Tong, Erick Morillo, Tiefschwarz, and The Klaxons to name a few. The DJing led to a series of acclaimed mix tapes and remixes for artists such as up-and-coming electro band Fenech-Soler. The guys are now concentrating on their own production work and hammering away on their debut EP due for release later this year.
They are also the promoters and resident DJs of one of London’s fastest growing club nights – INNUENDO. With 3 nights at Ministry of Sound and 3 more Secret Warehouse parties and a number of other big projects in the pipeline, 2007 is shaping up to be a defining year for Welfare for the Digital. Tonight they’ll exploit you with their cutting edge electro house and show you why they are a hot act to follow (www.myspace.com/welfareforthedigital).
Support comes from your dedicated residents Carl Johnston (www.myspace.com/djcarljohnston) & Joe Cullen who will finish the night with a bang-twisted and dirty house with an edge!
“ZIPCODE….expect a night of the very best in cutting edge house grooves all night long, tinged with a chunky and jackin' electro vibe...solid house music with soul!”
