The deep house night Body Music surge forward into 2007 with a new bi-monthly party launching at South London's premier clubbing location, the fantastic Plan B club.
Since it’s creation in 2004 and from original parties at Plastic People and Clockwork; 2006 saw Body Music's star continue to rise with a series of parties at the Key Club. With a list of guests that reads like a who’s who of cutting edge deep house music – DJ Spinna, Terry Hunter, Quentin Harris, Karizma, Bob Jones, Neil Pierce, Yam Who, Louis Benedetti, Kerri Chandler, Franck Roger, as well as more recently a “Galleria” party with Disco legend Nicky SIano - the night has built a loyal following and a strong reputation with a crowd who come to party hard.
The brainchild of promotion and DJ duo Andy Bird and John Oudo, Body Music is one of a new breed of house nights challenging the dominance of the over paid, over here super club shirts and skirts ethos that the scene descended into. Great Music and a great mixed crowd is the key to Body Music's continuing success and in making elcectic bookings across the whole soulful dance scene they have brought together both established names and cutting edge new talent for their every eager dancefloor.
Focussing on only working with top quaility underground nightspots - Plastic People, The Key, Plan B, the success of the night is as much about the residents as it is the guests. With both Andy Bird and John Oudo both fully paid up soul and boogie boys with collections ranging from Mos Def to Moodymann expect house music with a twist and something a bit more than your average funkyhouse-a-thon from the Body Music boys and 2007 will see them joining the Plan B nightclub for a little south side soul session with their first party on Saturday March the 10th with DJ Spen guesting.
Hailing from Baltimore USA, former Basement Boy DJ Spen has become one of the most respected and prolific producers in the scene - from Basement Boys, through Jasper Street Company, to his own Code Red and Spiritually Sound label. As a DJ this man is unmissable - with his trademark energy and a bag full of the most upfront tunes Spen has headlined clubs around the world, including the Southport Weekender and Soul Heaven, so come down and join in the fun. A 600 capacity venue, good cocktails, and most importantly an excellent dancefloor and Funktion One sound system (as well as a basement opening later this year for Body Music Boogie sessions!) we cannot wait!
