Arno is the hottest DJ producer to come out of France in the last 12 months. For those that don’t know much about ARNO COST give a brief description of where you are from, what music you play and how you got in to DJing?
I am 22 and live in Paris. I started producing maybe 8 years ago on some funny software like Dance Ejay! I wanted to develop my sound so I started to use more professional software and worked hard to give a personal touch to my tracks. I wasn’t really a Dj until I released my first track “Everywhere” but now Djing is as important to me as producing. I play progressive house most of the time, melodic and dancefoor stuff. Everything that gives me emotions actually!

What’s been your most memorable DJ related experience to date?
I think my best gig ever must be when I was in Tokyo with my friend Norman Doray, we played in a Warehouse and the crowd was crazy!! It was great as everyone knew our music and they live so far away…absolutely amazing!!

Where would you most like to DJ and why?
I’d love to play in America more because people are crazy about house music!! You can feel something magic happening in the clubs and the girls are really pretty too ;-)

Why do you name your productions after the 4 colour process used for printing eg. Magenta, Cyan?
I began with ‘Magenta’ because Arias and I thought it would be a beautiful name to call a track. I wanted to follow this colour code with ‘Cyan’, which reminds me of ‘Magenta’ sometimes.
Although, I’m not sure if the next one will be called ‘Blue’ or ‘Black’!!!

What goals have you got for this year?
This year the main goal is to satisfy my manager!!! ? More seriously, I have to focus on original mixes, creating my own label and doing maximum of clubs abroad for the international profile!!

What DJs to do you look up to and why?
I really like Eric Prydz, Sebastian Leger and Laidback Luke. They have created their own sound, always with emotions and a sexy touch that I love. I respect their work a lot.

What DJ set up do you have at home?
I only have production stuff (computer, monitoring etc…) but no turntables.
