Please introduce yourself and tell us where you are in the world?
James Harcourt and I’m in the UK!

What have been up to lately and what can we expect from you over the next couple of months?
A new E.P next month with two new original tracks “PROTON” and “NEUTRON” ... Plus remixes for Darren Emerson’s underwater label, Dave Seaman’s Audio Therapy Label and another for my own Twisted Frequency label ...

Which one do you enjoy the most, Djing or producing?
I couldn’t imagine DJing without producing. Producing something which really rocks is an untouchable feeling.

What do you see as your main strengths as a producer?
The ability to appeal to wide range of DJs, rather than just one niche group.

What time of day/night are you most creative?
I’m most creative when I’m not inspired. It can happen or dry up at any time it seems!

What can people expect from your live show?
Groove, White noise, Fat Analogue Baselines

What is the most interesting comment you have heard about your music?
One Review on ‘Moob’ said something which made me laugh out loud recently: “The beginning of the track will leave you wondering if he’s bound and gagged a turkey next to the studio mic” ... He gave in 8/10 in the end though!

Are you afraid of piracy?
Not afraid so much as frustrated. Since I run a label, it always presents a risk.

What non dance music do you listen to in say your car CD player or on the stereo in the kitchen?
I don’t buy much non dance music I’m afraid. I like a lot of older bands from my non dance music days, stuff like Strangelove & The Nubiles, I also still like a lot of pop!

What is the craziest after party you've ever been to or played at?
The craziest after party was in Leeds a few years back. All I know is I made it home on a midday train and it took me about a week to recover. Recently there was a fairly crazy after party on a boat in Prague which was really fun!

What is the best thing about the dance music scene?
The anticipation before and the excitement, at those great parties. As well as new, inspiring music.

What are your favourite production tools /gadgets?
MOOG, SH-101 and NORD RACK 3 Love Em!!!!

What are the top five most listened to tracks/songs on your iPod?
I flogged my IPod years ago. But when I had it it probably would have been my latest track or remix. I would be listening to it to see if it was any good, not just out of pure self-indulgence.

If you had to do something different what do you think you would end up doing?
Well I already do many things for a living and I wouldn’t want to change that. But if I had a total life transplant where I had complete freedom I’d want to get in to T.V or Film, in a writing capacity.

If there is one rule in life to live by, what is it?
I don’t think there’s one rule that works. If it was that simple the world wouldn’t be in the mess that it’s in!

What is your top tune of the moment?
The last few days I’ve really been in to an old Trentmoller track called “MOAN”. It’s beautiful the production and arrangement is just stunning!

What destroys music?
Over exposure, genre divisions.

What keeps it alive?
Exciting new tunes, great parties

Who was your hero as a child?
Marvin Hagler

If you could have one super human power what would you choose?
The ability to bend space and time!

Your favourite movie of all time?
A Clockwork Orange
