Dom Almond scratches Silly Sundays to pieces
Well, it has taken us a while to get this review together, but our excuse is that it's taken us this long to get over the Silly Sundays Christmas party.

With Santa observing the festivities from a corner (and apparently consuming too much liquor resulting in him passing out) and a glowing Christmas tree, the scene was set for a very memorable Christmas party.

Even before doors had opened revellers were inside, toasting the Christmas season and getting over a rough previous night. At 2PM Digital D opened the floor with some old favourites and some new classics. Taking over from him, The 5050 Crew laid down some of their trademark progressive beats for a dancefloor which was rapidly filling up and loving the tunes.

As darkness descended on PlayBar, the man from up north arrived with his lovely wife and started mingling with the revellers. Come 6PM though Dom Almond switched into scratch mode, and tore the decks apart. Opening with his current DJDownload top 5 tune, Shake It, it was clear this was to be a special set. Punters watched, with dropped jaws, as Dom scratched over a huge variety of breaks and electro tracks creating a totally new element for every track. Come the end of his set, and the crowd screamed for one more, which they duly got!

Next Tony Aggro threw down a birthday set of huge dancefloor kickers whilst knocking back way too many birthday drinks. The crowd seemed to love it all, except for a small CDJ malfunction which dropped the crowd into silence for a few seconds.

Finally, Rudster put together a mixed bag of progressive house and trance which brought the curtain down in style. The crowd which remained seemed very open minded to the different beats, and enjoyed themselves right up to the point where the music was shut down.

We have decided to take a break from the first Sunday of the January, so that you can all get over Christmas, but we will be back, possibly at a new venue for the first week of February.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

It was recorded, but sadly the levels were too high and it's not useable. It was a bit of a spur of the moment thing and not really planned all that well.

We will make sure the next one is spot on.
