Yet another blinder!!
Well even if I say so myself, what another awesome night! It leaves me speechless every time... thanks a million guys, you really do us proud!!

Best for me was the atmosphere - definately a real buzz going down and so many new faces since the last party we threw way back in June: welcome to C64 Virgins Davenewt & Squeakywheels; the Ibiza crew: Leigh, Nikki (see it wasn't dark'n' dingy was it?), Jayeboots, Maria, Gemma, Dan...; His Royal Highnesses of Ibiza and Guests of Honour:Terry and Mikl; Hawaiian princess Noura and all the industry bods and associates that made an effort to come down too: the Platform 12 Boys, J-Bass, Tyrrell, Studio Sam, Future Funk Squad, Backstage Sluts, Matt Cantor, MC Xander, MJoogoo... and some other ones who's names I don't know how to spell but have seen them on a sleeve somewhere! And of courseall the Higher Status and C64 Regulars who have been there since the beginning. You know who you are, namely because you're always writing to me on here!

And to think I got worried at the beginning that no-one was going to show up...

Musically, once it got going the joint didn't stop rocking - some blinding moments, though a last minute re-shuffle of acts due to their other engagements meant the progression was not quite what we originally had in mind. Still, it worked and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, including the DJs themselves and that's the main thing.

Extra air-con - definately a wise move - though it's also time to get a bigger venue methinks... Hmmm, large, glam, free, on a Friday night and Central London ...this'll take some searching....

Yup, some tweaks here and there, but ever onwards and upwards...

Thank you truly for supporting our nights and making them so special. There's a lot of blood, sweat and tears that goes into them (and cursing, don't forget the cursing!) but the pleasure we get when it all comes together and does what it's supposed to, is immense!

Cheers all and see you at the next one...(though we already know it will be sooner) Y x

PS Extra special big-up to the ever reliable Higher Status Crew Gary, Coleman and Marine Boy for making it all happen. U guys are hardcore!!! xxx

It was my first C64 - thanks Clive for letting me in on the secret - and I must say one of the very best nights I've had out in ages. Never seen such a friendly, good looking (maybe that was just the beers?!) and up for it crowd, wicked tunes, FREE entry (woo hoo, unheard of in London). You guys are on to it!

So at the risk of being a groupie.... bring on the next one!!!

You got it girl! Welcome to the World of C64 - ha ha!! ;)

Glad you enjoyed the night and thanks for the feedback, it really makes it worthwhile in the days after as we nurse our aching backs and sore heads and prepare for the next one! I'll send you an invite to the Higher Status Regulars Group and then we can let you know about the next one.....

Cheers babe!

Blimey !!!
Looks like we missed a good one....
So, Yas - where could the next venue be.....?
Were you totally at capacity on this one ? Luc was saying Beebop didn't have room to dance (shock :-0 )...
are you going to Secret Garden this w'end ?

Am I allowed to say it was wicked?!!!! Will people believe me?!?!?

Yeah we are looking at venues and alternative ideas as we speak....the problem is finding one at no cost on a Friday night - impossible!! Actually, a couple of options available right now is a larger venue on a Saturday night (but less recovery time) or hiring someone to do the door so that no randoms from downstairs come in. What do people think about this?

It wasfull but still enough room to dance - you know what Beebop is like needing his zooooooone!!

Weekend is still open to lots of opportunities including your very special anniversary I believe?!?! I think we are going to see what our energy levels are like by tomorrow. Definately be good to get out of London though.....
Speak soon Yx

Yeah Yas - of course you can say it was wicked & yes they would believe you - especially if they've ever been to a C64 !!
Hope this rain blows over - 40 people... in our house... soggy burgers.... whatever we're we thinking ?? ;)
It's great you guys are still getting new recruits to the C64 cause -

"The breakbeaters are taking over the asylum... "
Have a good day - ah well, the plants need the rain...
Love & peace all
Dave

Still? We've only just begun - mwah ha ha ha (as they say)!

Well sometimes I've been dissed for being too enthusiastic, but hey it's for real, what do they know? Unfortunately there's a lot of people out there keen to put others' enthusiasm down. I hate all that s**t! Can I give you a call later about 42 people? Possibly?

Dissed for being too enthusiastic?! Tell 'em to stick it! I think fake bonhomie is a crap thing (say what you see, as Roy Walker used to say on Catchphrase), but if you feel it, DO it!

As for suggestions, Saturday would be OK (I too am a fan of Fridays for recovery time, but it's not a deal-clincher for me!). I dunno about the "randoms walking in" thing - maybe it depends who they are and how many... Did you get any actual undesireables along on Friday? I mean, some of those randoms may be very welcome new faces, and there's only one way to find out. I think on Friday, it was getting so intense in there that any randoms who weren't into that kind of thing wouldn't last long anyway. Though I guess someone on the door, if not to exclude randoms, but just to gauge whether they would fit in (is that what they call "face control"?) might be an option...

On the other hand, it's your party and it's free, so there is nothing wrong with only wanting people you know there either! Depends what you are after.

And don't talk to me about Beebop and his "zone". I've never seen such a big zone in my life (well, not until I saw JimboG dancing next to him :-)! )

And why are only 4 people watching this thread (hence the low replies)? Are people still getting to grips with this new messaging system?

Have a lovely weekend!

Thanx Dave ("Say what you see" - love it!). I don't know, it's a "cool" thing I suppose and I've had it on more than 1 occassion when telling people about what we do. B***ocks to the lot of 'em!!

Cheers for feedback too. Yeah I don't mind happy randoms at all but there were one or 2 with bad attitude I noticed, including one evil vicious girl who, when I accidentally (and lightly) stepped on her foot, and apologised, almost hit me!! I've never seen such a vicious face, contorted with anger it was, and someone had to step in and save me. I almost got security in to chuck her out but decided she wasn't actually worth the attention. Yeah, there was the odd bit of that actually and ego-wank diluting the good vibes so I'm thinking of the door option, though that means cost implications as all my good volunteering friends don't want to miss the party, understandably!

Yeah the thread thing. I don't know...I'm presuming this message goes to everyone in the Higher Status Regulars Group, right? Wrong? Anyone out there to just check this please...?! Test Message: One, Two, One, TTTTTTWo!!!

Maybe they're all conscientous workers Dave?

Have a great weekend yourself. Much love xxxxxx

Just a quick msg as apparently they expect me to work in here... hmmm.

Yet another fantastic fantastic night had, I lost 3kg in sweat on the dancefloor and then another 2kg just sitting down watching the dancefloor! Good thing i did nothing but stretch my overdanced legs and eat for the rest of the weekend! : )

Can't thank you guys enough for the hard work (think i'm a defo groupie by now)! but wouldn't miss them for the world! Onwards and outwards (i'd rather have more floorspace than ceiling height!)

See you soon!

Hey Yas
I can't believe (well I can) some people would put you down for being too enthusiastic - enthusiasm's great - better than acting 'cool' & as if you're not excited about anything !! God, how boring !! Don't take that kind of attitude.
Your parties are amazing & I'm sorry we missed this last one... Glad this is only the beginning - that just means it's gonna get betterer & betterer !!
Have a good day even though the sky is raining - the plants need it....

Maybe a suggestion for the door person, would be to have a crew of volunteers who do an hour each ?? that way no-one misses the party (well not all of it).. shame there was a nasty woman in there.. but then people like that are usually project their feelings of inadequacy & self-loathing outwards & so stop themselves from being open to positive experiences cos they think everyone hates them.. sad situation..
Enough of that though - top parties, wonderful people, great nights, more to come !!!
Love & peace & light
Dave

I feel privileged to be 'on the list' as it were for one of the best parties in the calendar! (And we've all been to a few this year, haven't we?) A truly (yes) wicked night, surrounded by lovely, lovely people! (I obviously had a better experience of the gate-crashers!)

Dave and I were saying how we must have known 50% of the people in there. I walked in and spent the first half an hour just saying 'Hello'! Sounds sloppy, but it was like coming home!

All I can say is THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for a grrrreat night!!

All what Dave said!

And all what Jim said!

And sorry about the nasty girl you saw. That's the last time I invite my friends along! (Only kidding!)

And, Jayeboots, if you lost 5kg dancing, you must be down to what now? A couple of ounces? We won't even be able to find you after the next one. :-D I have to say though, exercise and weight loss is my flimsy pretext for coming out and dancing so often!

Oh you gorgeous gorgeous people!!

So THAT'S where you were all hiding, I did my mail-out wrong - oops!

Yeah, I don't want to turn into a slush-fest either but seriously it's a team thing and we get as much out of it as you do. xoxoxoxoxox
We just pull it all together. (And hump the sound system up and down 3 flights of stairs at some ungodly hour - harumph!)

Yeah I got back from this one so inspired I had a spin on the decks myself and it finally all came together under my hands - yaaay! - got it!!! No you won't be seeing me any line-ups in the near, middle or far future, but just to finally get in the flow with it...wowee!! So as I said, thank U2, wicked for us too!

Dave, great idea but we tried that shift session thing on Tsunami Breaks and it didn't really work as people got wasted, forgot their shifts and I spent the night moreharrassed trying to hunt everyone down!! No, I think the peace of mind of hiring is the way forward with this one.... work experience anyone?!

OK guess I must go, another party to plan...! xxxxx

Hello, hello, heloooo...... I thought that I could hear an echo vibrating around somewhere (but thought it was in my head, as my sanity has been rather dubious, of late) ;o)

Oh Yas, my love - I'm soo sorry to hear that and apologise profusely for not making this one, but it's was first and will be last that I'll miss! Also, you know that I'd happily volunteer to be your personal bodyguard anytime and deflect negative energy away from you...
I think that Dave's idea is good suggestion and we could rotate, but I guess that we would have to be in a fit state to give people the 'once over'? Although, to be honest, at every great party, there's always been one or two randoms, who bizarrely manage to get thru - but you musn't let this get to you sweetie. Perhaps they can see the light and are drawn to it, but aren't quite there yet??
Personally, I'd prefer a Sat nite because I usually end-up coming straight from work, still in 'work mode' and not the glammed-up glitz and with all party fires blazing that C64 deserves! Although, whatever's better for you, then is fine for me...

I'm planning on having a low-key weekend, but maybe it'll be nice for us to have a girlie catch and a cuppa? Erm, herbal tea maybe??

- LET LOVE, ENTHUSIASM & C64 Free party ON!!!!!!!!!!!

Big bear HUGS XXXXX

Yas - A huge thank you from me also. It was a fantastic night with a lovely crowd of people and a fantastic selection of choons. Like Dave and Jim the first part of the evening was spent saying hi to all the people that I've met from coming to your events. What can I say, It's the most fun I've had with my clothes on! The weird thing is I also remember accidentally standing on a girl's foot during the course of the evening. I apologised like hell but she wasn't a happy bunny! If it's the same girl as you then she should invest in steel toe-capped boots! Anyway anothing perfect night and many, many thanks for letting me and Dan come back to yours afterwards. I know you had a lot on the next day and wanted a 'quiet one' but it was great of you to let us come back for a bit and crash out (literally) in your front room. See you on the boat next week for more tomfoolishness!!!

If that's the case Nina, maybe we'd better stick with Fridays ..not sure if we are ready for you full-on all fires a-blazing!! ;)
I'll call you re: weekend x

PP! That sounds like the one. Maybe she goes around actually sticking her feet underneath others so she finds a convenient vent for her irrational anger. Seriously, I have never experienced anything like that - just explosive. But enough about her.... No worries mate and see ya very soon!
