PROLOGUE
Are you Pro live? We Are!
The 7th Birthday & launch of ‘Pro Live’ @ The Scala, Kings Cross.
Saturday 9th February 2008 9PM -6AM
Prologue launched at ‘The Cross’ in Feb 2001 and quickly established itself as one of London’s leading club brands. Their ethos was to not rely on big name Djs but instead work with and develop a number of core residents to create an original sound and a night that wasn’t afraid to mix it up and experiment; always embracing new genres of music whilst keeping the original spirit of Prologue alive. Despite enjoying three very successful years at the legendary Cross In 2004 they made a short journey up the road to a new home at ‘Egg’. Still enjoying success and carefully keeping an eye on musical trends, this is where Prologue eventually further developed the events to incorporate live music. 3 years later and with another short move back to the Kings Cross clubbing utopia, Prologue launches ‘Pro Live’ at ‘The Scala’ on the 9th February, both celebrating it’s 7 year milestone and marking a new era.
Pro Live
As the newest addition to the Prologue movement, ‘Pro Live’ hosts the main stage/ dancefloor at it’s new home Scala in Kings Cross. Headlining this room will be the hotly tipped electro rock band from Newcastle ‘Viva City’, whom after their first gig at Prologue, were snapped up and signed to Kosheen’s record label ‘Vert’. Already having supported bands such as Boy Kill Boy and Kosheen, ‘Viva City’ have made waves on Europe’s club scene and headlined at various London club nights.
Alongside them will be ‘Black Mariah’. Tipped as ones to watch by various leading media including Virgin Radio and Time Out, they were headliners of the ‘Futureshock’ stage at the massive ‘State of Exit’ festival in Serbia, 2007. There will also be further performances from ‘Ledge’ a singer-songwriter and guitarist and electronic act ‘Def By Disco’.
But it’s not all change. For veteran Prologue partygoers there are a further 2 rooms of underground house, encompassing the various musical genres and dancefloor favorites from the past 7 years - making Prologue what it is today.
Headlining the dancefloor will be ‘Kosheen DJs’ who have been a long-term exclusive fixture at this monthly event, although Neil Quigley is possibly the longest serving resident on tonight’s line up first appearing for Prologue back in 2002 before he went on to be snapped up by John Digweed as the ‘Bedrock’ resident among many other credible acclamations. Still promoted by its original ethos of supporting a group of core Djs, Matt Tolfrey, AudioJack and the Playtime Djs have all made regular appearances and fully encapsulate the originality of what has proved to be one of London’s most successful and respected club events.
Celebrating 7 years of Prologue – the launch of ‘Pro Live’ – their new home – plus anything else they can throw into the mix, Saturday 9th February @ ‘The Scala’
