As a general rule I have never felt unsafe in SeOne, no matter the type of music or at any Drum n Bass event for that matter (and I didn't on saturday but I do take what my friends say seriously) and I think that was the point Beth was trying to get across - for future reference, so something The venue has agreed to reorganise its security to place more of them on walk rounds around the venue, and particularly in the Main Room. such as this, to be done about it.

It most certainly won't stop me going to another one just maybe with a different group of mates

I didn’t personally see any trouble or feel intimidated at all at Son of Dance - in fact I had a wicked night! I’m sorry to hear that some of you felt & experienced otherwise... Unfortunately nowadays, any big DnB event seems to attract trouble to varying degrees and its a real shame as I and many of my mates attend DnB events frequently and are not uneducated, violence-loving chavs with bad attitudes... and I’m very offended by those who have suggested this. You are very small minded and so quick to tar everybody with the same brush.

Unfortunately, wherever you go you will get always one or two idiots who are not out for the right reasons but instead to ruin the night for others and this is not exclusive to DnB (although maybe more common).

Because of this, i am very selective of the nights I will go to and feel that smaller events generally have a friendlier attitude. (I also steer clear of mc-based events and certain events which seem to be full of 16 year olds thugs who haven’t a clue about or appreciation for the history of the music or scene)

I have been raving for almost 10 years now and have seen the scene change significantly in that time and along the way it seems to have attracted more and more wannabe gangsters who go out in packs with the intention of intimidating others. I also started up a small DnB night called 1LOVE with my partner last year with the aim of capturing the fun and friendly atmosphere of the DnB/Jungle scene we once knew and loved and we have not had trouble at any of our events to date - so it can be done!! (fingers crossed)

To those who go to DnB raves and are 'scared to look others in the eye'... seriously, get a grip!! You are only making yourself a target by acting so vulnerable and allowing these bullies to win!! You are just making them stronger!! Unless we start standing up to these cowardly goons, us peaceful, friendly and fun-loving DnB-heads have no chance of reclaiming our scene.

Tempted fate ... I actually got me orbitals nicked on friday, I was that smashed I just stuck my tongue out at the bloke and stood there looking tw@ed. Luckily a friend came up and took em off him lol. You get this shit everywhere, kind of like bird shit, just dont let it ruin your night! I get that wasted I dont even notice the idiots!

and I'm glad i didn't go to son of dance in the end and went to my little sis birthday instead. because i fear i wouldn't have been able to hold my tongue.
