That might be true, but it isn't just London - plenty of stories from elsewhere in the country about this type of shit. It is isn't just D'n'B and it isn't all people who like D'N'B , but the 2 do seem to go together a bit.

When I used to work on the door, we always used to get the most amount of trouble on DnB nights. its difficult to say whether its the music that breeds it or just the type of person that listens to DnB that (as a general rule of thumb) cause trouble but every DnB night that I worked at, there was serious violence.

What was the demongraphic of ppl there last night?

Majority angry white 20 somethings. I really felt ashamed to be part of the culture.

D&B used to be so happy and bouncy and smiley, and somewhere along the lines it did get aggressive. I know loads of lovely people who really love it, so it's not everyone, but your demographic doesn't surprise me in the least as being tense and angry.

I think one of the problems is, that now DnB has got that reputation it becomes self-perpetuating as it attracts people who are looking for an adrenaline rush from violence whilst people who just want to have a nice night out avoid it like the plague or are very slective with the DnB nights they choose.

There have been a few DnB and Breaks nights and weekends plugged on here, with excellent Breaks line-ups which I just wouldn't consider going to as I'm worried about the DnB contingent. This, whilst I have no objections and actually quite like a bit of DnB music.

I've not yet been to anything so bad I was actually "worried" (though that's probably because I've successfully avoided them), but plenty where I've certainly enjoyed myself a lot less because of it.

Drum n bass is the best in my opinion.I love it and love nothing more than losing it in the music at a DnB rave but first time ever for me where i couldnt fucking lose it coz from start to finish i felt so vulnerable and unsafe, loads of bad attitude and the gangs going round trying to mug everyone put me on edge most of the night.
I met so many lovely happy ravers and the DJs n MCs were all wicked but the fear of either being mugged or glassed last night totally ruined it for me.
I know dnb can some times be moody which never gets to me i still have the big smile and i lose the plot raving my ass off but i couldnt do that last night at all.
Complete let down all because dickheads trying to fuck it up for ravers and trying to ruin the scene.

This is my view on it,

Iv been raving since 1992 and fucking love drum and bass but iv see a lot of changes in the scene. The scene was getting moody from 1994-1997 when they starting bringing ragga Licks and gunshots in jungle and the music got darker. Trust me its tame from what it used to be like at certain raves!

In 1995 one nation when it was proper one nation owned by terry turbo and not slammin Vinyl went to Wembley and blew up a fucking police car on stage wot does that say. Honetly people were getting killed outside raves, world dance at wembley + 2 others i can remember.

The scene has always been moody. From 1997 to 2000 there wasnt really a scene, the music went industrail and people stopped raving and went to garage. The music was shit and you would be lucky to find any girls in raves Around 2000-2001 the vibe strating getting better as people like Sky fx, marky starting making tunes with lyrics again which applealed to girls who started raving again.

The majority of people that rave are peaceful but certain raves are going to attract certain people. Go hospitality at Heaven, generally good vibes and hadly any trouble so all good. But go Breaking science or innovation, diferent vibe.
So if you know about the scene then you know what events are likely to be moody or not. The moodyness brings a vibe like it or not. Now its all about crews going down and getting respect from there friends and in most cases it will be the vunerable bloke who loves his D and B, but looks like a victim as he aint dressed right or dont dance right, trust me its about intimmidation now, people want you to be scared of them, show your not give them eye contact and most of the time its all good, but if it aint then then you gota deal with it, `Some people dont even value their own life so why would they give shit about yours!

All im saying is there are a lot of idiots who spoit it for other people, but pick your raves carefully and you should get no trouble. If you still wanna go breaking or innovation just expect that theres the possiblity that some cunt may want to spoli your night . If you cant deal with that go to one where raves where you feel comfortable, i know it shouldnt be like that, but the fact it, it is!

One nation used to be moody but terry turbos bouncers used to know the ku, they used to employ bouncers from all over london who knew all the crews so they would know what faces to look out and who was hassle. You dont get that now,

Alos certain DJ's/ mcs bring certain people, Ic3 aint going to bring the same hard core fans as Eksman, crews like mcs that chat about things they can relate to like Eksman. (shabba the best mc in my opinion now that stevei hyper aint here) bring people more that the djs do now, and when some of mcs chat about life, and violence some crews can relate to that.. Listen to all of the mcs on the scens lyrics and that will you the cround the type of crowd they bring.

But all those people who generalise about drum and bass ravers aint got a fucking clue, if you love the Drum and bass and are educated about it you will understand, if you aint aint dont presume that every person who listens to drum and bass is a trouble loving Cunt. That ignorance as bad as the small elemant that ruin it for the rest

Peace!
