Nu Religion speaks to the clubbers ahead of Tidys return to London part 1

With Tidy vs Nu Religion fast approaching we speak to some of the clubbers to get there views on whats hot and whats not!!

1. Firstly can you tell us a bit about how long you have been clubbing and what you would normally get up to at the weekend?

I suppose i started proper clubbing (not your regular local commercial night) in 1999. Went to the Honey club in Brighton and have never looked back!

Normally of a weekend I'm working so clubbing fits in between. i normally finish work at about 9 on a Saturday and either head to London, Birmingham, Coalville, Brighton, where ever there's a decent party within about 100 miles of my home. and after I normal head back home and straight to work on the Sunday!

On a rare full weekend off i try and make the after parties, twist in London or oc's in Birmingham. But often end up having a kip in the car!

The older i get the more i wanna go out clubbing! a Saturday night spent at home is a rare occurrence and i just don't get x-factor and all the rubbish on the box! If a night is on and I'm off and I'm missing it i feel i missing out!!

2. So what is it you most like about clubbing and what styles of music do you listen to?

Friendly faces I have met and evolved with over the years, We're a community. and although i don't know names, can't remember names, or only know people by there message board id, i feel i know them as i see them week in week out.

Promoters who actually give a damn about the clubbers and run nights for clubbers not just as a money making exercise. Love hard south in Brighton, Nick who runs it really knows what hits the clubbers buttons and books amazing dj's each month.

I mainly got to club nights that play hard dance, anything with a BPM over 145 hits my boat! Have been know to visit hardcore nights too.

3. You both seem to be a bit of a legend in the clubbing seen and a familiar face to many clubbers. With the hard dance scene ever changing what do you look for in an event when deciding where you’re going to get your stomp on?

lol @ legend! I'm just me!!

For me the dj line up straight away and those who know me well know who i look out for first!!

and also what friends etc are going, always good to have a stomp but i often go on my own and make new friends. that's what i love about clubbing. i'm not afraid to go out on me own. i always know someone I used to go clubbing and not say anything to anyone all night then all of a sudden i spend half the night saying hi and the other half saying bye!

4. With Nu Religion becoming and ever more popular brand what do you think makes it so special that it has come so far in such a short space of time?

It gives the clubbers what they want. You ask what dj's we want to play and you try and sort it. you open doors for up and coming dj's and give them the opportunity to play London and to a larger crowd.

5. What’s the best NR event that you have been to so far and why was it so memorable?

For me it's gotta be Nov 2006 @ hidden. was my first nu-religion party and first time at hidden and i loved every minute of it!!

the last party at mass weren't too bad either!! really enjoyed it!

6. As clubbers are the people that keep these events running there input is always greatly valued what changes would you suggest or what would you like to see more of at future events?

Can't really think of anything right now. though i did like the camera in the dj box at mass. was good to watch what the dj's got up to on the decks.

7. Who’s your all time favourite DJ and most memorable set from your past clubbing experiences and why?

I think most know this already, and have already been voted #1 stalker by the dj herself!! Lisa Pin-up. Just the time she gives out to her followers in return for there support is amazing. she remembers people names and faces and always has time for everyone. She just rocks! as soon as she walks into a club the whole place just lifts.

Most memorable sets, omg so many to remember!. Lisa pin-up set at TW14 blew me away, just the light, lasers etc just made it.

8. If you could introduce a new concept that could help change the way that clubbing is today, what would it be?

I'm trying to think of something clever her that everyone will say wow too, but i can't! i like my clubbing just the way it is!

though a teleporter the morning after could be a good idea!

9. If Nu Religion was to go on tour what other clubs have you been to that you think would suit the Nu Religion Theme?

Honeyclub in Brighton is an amazing little club with several rooms and all close together so you can have many different genre's of music in one place.

air in Birmingham nice club too, work really well for poly's.

10. If an elephant laid and egg on the roof of a house which way would it fall? Left or Right

can elephants lay eggs? surely it'd just rip straight through it and demolish it? omg can you imagine the size of the omelet! If i have to choose right.

You was right the first time elephants don't lay eggs it was a trick question

11. Where’s the love gone?

The love is still here you just ain't looking hard enough or don't want it.

12. What’s your favourite cheese?

Basshunter's now your gone is my favourite cheese right now

Thanks for taking the time out to answer those questions and stay tuned for the boys side of the story in part 2
