Kaiser Saucy and Lord Fader, aka, the Loose Cannons, are very much at the forefront of the electronic music world in the UK thanks in part to their massively successful Thursday night slot on Kiss FM, and partly due tot heir unquestionable talent both in the studio and behind a pair of decks. Having recently remixed the likes of Lady GaGa, Justice, and Cassette Jam, as well as playing at all the coolest club nights around, they are without doubt going to cause some serious musical havoc when they stop in at massive London party, Sick! On the Dancefloor this weekend...

How has 2009 been so far for you, where’ve you been and what have you been up to?

2009 has actually been really amazing for us so far; we played Matter for the first time, we just got back from Dubai, we're working on a brand new rock project "Lego Johnson" which I'm superpsyched about. Then we've got some insane collaborations & remixes lined up. Plus of course, thanks to SOTD, we're headlining the Main Room at S.E.One for the first time. Yup, '09 is certainly shaping up to be a vintage year so far, thanks for asking... How's your year been?

How did you guys get first get inspired to venture into the music industry?

For me I guess it was always Prince. From as early as I can remember I wanted to be a rockstar - while all my mates were jumping from fireman one week to astronaut the next, once I saw Prince bust out the guitar solo on "Let's Go Crazy" I knew that was the life for me.

Like most people, it didn't exactly turn out the way I planned it, but I'm certainly not complaining...

At what point did you realise you’d made it and this was going to be your career?

Ummm, ask me that again in 2 years time. We still feel like we have a looonnng, loooonnngg way to go - but it's always better to feel like you're on the way up, not down.

What’s been the ultimate highlight over the years?

God, ONE highlight?? That's almost an impossible question. I guess playing to 10,000 beautiful people on New Year's Day in Sydney outside in the sunshine was a pretty fucking special day.

What’s your naughtiest party story???

Ummm, & that IS an impossible question - certainly in a public forum such as this..!

You must have played alongside some amazing DJs along the way, who really blew you away? And who would you still love to play with?

Do you know what? I know he's flavour of the month & all that but I saw Fake Blood down at Fabric a couple of months ago, & he's got some mad skills. The thing is, in case you don't know, he's been paying his dues for a long time way before this new (& well-deserved) notoriety came along so he really knows what he's doing in a DJ booth.

As for people we haven't played with, again it's almost a cliché but with very, very good reason but I'd love to get on the same bill as Erol Alkan. Every time I catch him he always smashes the fuck out of it.

You have your own radio show on Kiss FM, how did this come about and what’s the funniest/craziest thing that’s ever happened on air?

It was totally unexpected & not something we'd even really considered but I'm so, so grateful it did; we just popped in as guests on Princess Superstar's show & for whatever reason - most likely the fact that I can speak a mile a minute without pausing for breath(!) - our first producer Charlotte thought we had potential as presenters & it just sort of fell into place from there. Looking back, she took a real gamble on us coz we really didn't have a clue & I'm so glad she did. I can't imagine where we'd be right now without the Kiss Show - it's so much a part of who we are these days.

And as for amusing guests, again too many to mention. Although Barry Ashworth from the Dub Pistols turning up hammered to do a live mix was pretty special.

You’ve remixed artists ranging from Justice to The Mighty Boosh, which has been your favourite track to work on and why?

As a producer or remixer, you're probably always the most excited about the newest thing your working on - & that's how it should be. We had a quick interview with Soulwax backstage at a festival last year & they were telling us then they couldn't wait for people to hear the remix they'd been working on on the tour bus. I asked who it was for & Stephen just said "MGMT". So it turns out he was right!

We've just finished a mix of a Lady Gaga track "Starstruck" that came together so quickly & easily, so that's a current favourite, as are remixes we're just tweaking right now for Speech Debelle & Filth & Splendour. They're all pretty damn banging as well, which always helps...

Your playing at Sick! on the 21st… what can we expect??

Well, Lady Gaga, Speech Debelle & Filth & Splendour obviously! And possibly some MGMT. After that you're guess is as good as mine; we'll just have to see when we get down there...
