Rollercoaster Coldcut gig
An amazing night at the Sheperds Bush Empire, firstly I have to say that we were upstairs and really didn't get the full sound and make camera packed up after 1 track.
So to Coldcut, 4 guys stuck behing 2 table tennis tables full of kit, wires going everywhere. Turntables, laptops, god knows what was in there.

Coldcut came on with a whimper didn't even know they were there really. Track one passed by, track 2 moved up a notch then they started to up the tempo and suddenly all hell broke loose. Blair and Bush brought in the bass! The building started shaking and Coldcut were on a roll, 'Bits and pieces' provocative visuals and a superbly cut finish from Prescott. A full on audio visual assualt! Then they totally dropped it down, only to immediately pick things up again with 'Timber' then down again with John Mathias. Then they totally changed again, hints of gospel and new singers brought on a more conventional smooth dance feel, the visuals went soft. Then to Roots Manuva and then to a full on rock-n-roll ending. A genuine good night and would have been great if they could have sustained the power from the half way point.

Well worth the trek...
