As the hype for the launch of Chameleon builds and with less than 3 weeks to go, it's time to introduce you to two of the headlining acts…
NINJA COWBOYS

Most of us in London have grown to know and love these boys as their profile rocketed on the London house scene over the past 12 months. Starting the new year by assigning the production team behind Chameleon to manage them, it was a no-brainer that they should play for the launch night – Chameleon:blue
Through playing alongside high ranking DJs such as Tom Neville, Seamus Haji, Futureshock, Yousef, Smokin’ Jo & Tim Sheridan, Audiofly, Darren Emerson, Jon Carter, X-Press 2, Jo Mills and Wally Lopez, to name just a few, the Ninja Cowboys have developed their own unique style and sound.
Present influences for the Ninja Cowboys include the productions of Mark Knight & Martijn Ten Velden, Nic Fanciuli (Buick Project), Eric Prydz (Cirez D, Pryda), Mylo, Luke Dzierzek, Lutzenkirchen & Silver City.
Their musical style varies depending on where and what time they are playing, and ranges from deep house, minimal tech & electro to driving dirty electro & intense uplifting house music.
With the music policy at Chameleon simply being ‘House’, to allow variety and flexibility at each event, the Ninja’s will fit right in at the launch. Giving them 3 hours will allow the Cowboys to build an awesome set to work the Chameleon crowd.
Cozzy D & Johnny Mikes have been mates since High School. They both bought their first sets of decks at the age of 16 and soon were rocking friend's house parties & Student Union events. Johnny Mikes went to University in Derby where he had regular gigs in clubs and bars on the East Midlands Circuit. Cozzy D worked through two summer seasons as a resident DJ for a Club & Bar in Malia, Crete.
Re-surfacing in London in late 2002 they started to seriously party and network on the London club scene. A mutual friend introduced them to a guy called Mark Wilkinson (Kidology Records). At this time Mark was staging Kidology Parties @ The Blag Club in Notting Hill. It is here that Cozzy D first met Mark Storie. Cozzy D soon launched his own night with his good Friend Yianni and the first party ripped apart the Redstar Bar, Camberwell in July 2003 where Cozzy put Johnny and Mark Storie on the line up.
Halloween 2003 was the second time Cozzy, Johnny and Mark again all adorned the DJ Line Up at Play Bar, Old Street. Whilst the three boys had different musical styles, they realized that at times they tended to compliment each other. Dazed & Confuzed were born.
Soon after, all 3 boys were regular fixtures on the Kidology line up. Jan 2004 saw Kidology secure a bi-monthly residency at London's reknown AKA club. The night proved such a success that AKA decided to let it go monthly. With the success of Kidology the boys spread their wings and started getting more & more gigs in and around the London area as well as abroad.
After being confused with a magazine of the same name, a rebranding followed and Dazed and Confuzed became the Ninja Cowboys!
Since then they have exploded onto the scene, playing for nights such as Type, Renaissance, Kidology, Formula (to name but a few) at clubs such as The Cross, Ministry of Sound, Pacha, The Key, and many many more.
Broadening their musical offering, the Ninjas have produced some storming tracks. First track 'We Love You Michael' (Oct 2004) is a deep, uplifting electro track.
Driving Electro infused house track 'Go Go Go' followed in March 2005 with a massive guitar riff. Latest offering '8 Bar Edit' is more minimal with a phat Dirty bassline. Many say their best production to date and expect to hear it at Chameleon on the 28th Jan!
Look out for a full in depth interview with the Ninja Cowboys in Feb!
JAMES FITCH

Not many DJ’s can claim to have played with legends like Frankie Knuckles, David Morales, Bob Sinclair and Eric Morillo more than once! During his 11 years behind the decks, James has developed a unique and exciting style playing real house music, from uplifting vocals to tuff, chunky beats, keeping it fresh. The perfect choice for the launch of Chameleon
He moved to Valencia Spain in 1998 and soon was one of Spain’s “in demand” Dj’s after rocking the Spanish clubs for 4 years. He was resident for Trade in Spain.
During his 4 productive years on the Spanish mainland he held down numerous residencies and was playing out every night of the week. He was a key figure in building the explosive “House music” scene that exists today in Valencia by molding clubs like Caballito de Mar, 69 Monos, and The Face into venues recognized nationally because of their music. At the same time he played guest spots all over Europe to include: The Escape (UK, Brighton), Future (Greece, Corfu), Discoteque (Barcelona), Kapital (Madrid), KU (Benidorm), Dreamers (Marbella), Privilege (Ibiza), Puzzle (Valencia) Roxy (Amsterdam) and the Ministry of Sound Dance Nation Tour (UK).
His persistence, talent and technical genius led him to Ibiza, where for 4 years running he graced the decks at the Islands coolest floors, including of course, the infamous Manumission at Privilege, Space Terrace, Café Mambo, The Underground and Eden.
Apart from some 4 Spanish residencies, James wrapped up his stay in Spain with numerous gigs including; the party for the Jamiroquai tour in Valencia… and with St Germain in the Valencia Bull Ring to 10,000 party animals! Since arriving back in the UK in September 2002 James Fitch has guested at: The Cross, Koko club, Turnmills, Soulheaven, Fever, Media, The Opera House (All in UK), Nirvana Lounge (Paris), Galaxy and Los Patankos (Lithuania), Catwalk (Barcelona) to name a few. He was also resident at the south coats famous Zap club before it recently changed hands to Union where he still gets regular sets. His current schedule includes: a bi-monthly residency at Lovezoo (Nottingham), a monthly residency at Ponana, a twice monthly summer residency at Budhha del sol (Valencia), a bi-weekly residency at The Funky Buddha and SUMO (both in Brighton), and his monthly showdown at Spanish super club Guru (Valencia). He also continues his long running bank holiday residency at Bolts at The Opera House, And has some exciting gigs lined up: including numerous more dates in Lithuania, his first visit to Dubai and a festival in Argentina.
It’s not just behind the decks that Mr Fitch is creating attention, but on the production scene too. After a tasty remix from men of the moment Deux (David Penn), the test press of his third track (Phillips & Fitch: Sex, lies and cocaine lines) rocked Space’s terrace and was the tune of the summer on the Amnesia terrace last year. It was later signed by Mono records. His latest track “Pass the Funk” was signed to Illegal Beats (Jalapeno Records) getting a remix from the up and coming Balearic soul, and has been a massive success. It has also been one of the most successful releases on the Kid Crème label this year!!!
