The Rozzers!

SOMETIMES IT'S HARD BEING A BREAKS DJ..

You meet someone in a bar and tell them you're a mean, lean, record-spinning machine. They look kinda impressed, and ask, "What do you play?" Breaks, you reply, and wait for the inevitable expression of complete and utter bewilderment to appear on their face.

It's tough, but you learn to live with it.

However, dealing with constant romantic rejection is as much a part of being a breakbeat DJ as basslines & mixing - what we don't expect is to get persecuted by THE LAW!

Yes, that's right. We're being oppressed. Diligent in their promotional duties, messrs Ladykilla and Morley were out covering the east end of London in particularly garish bright luminous yellow flyposters a few weeks ago, making sure that everyone knew all about our fabulous Platform 12 Summer Boat Party event, when we found ourselves the victims of human rights abuses by THE COPS.

We tried hard to fit in with their sinister right-wing agenda. After they told us to get lost the first time we even disappeared for a couple of hours before... umm... going straight back to the same area and carrying on.

Seems the rozzers didn't take too kindly to this. As we bravely scarpered after spotting their flashing lights for a second time they actually parked the car up and GAVE CHASE ON FOOT. We weren't expecting that, and after heroically leaping over several large fences (well, OK, one medium-sized gate) we also weren't expecting to find ourselves in a cul de sac.

Anyway, much grovelling shamefacedness later, they let us off with a warning after we explained we were just a couple of poor, hardworking DJs whose only joy in life was running our club night and occasionally getting sexual interest from girls who, romantically speaking, wouldn't p*ss on us if we were on fire unless firmly entrenched behind a set of decks.

Anyway, the point of all this dear reader, is that when it comes to making the effort with a clubnight, you can count on us to do what it takes to make sure it goes off. Our next event is on July 2nd and is looking like being one of the best yet. To remind you, we have Hyper & Friendly, with residents & Kid Blue, on a boat, on The Thames, with 400 others, with a fat soundsystem and one of the best crowds around. Be there, or we promise to get our new friends at Mile End Police Station to have a word.
