A FUN-SIZE FESTIVAL TO CELEBRATE NEW YEAR’S EVE
@ CAMINO & THE BIG CHILL HOUSE
KING’S CROSS, N1
w/ WHITE MISCHIEF & SANCHO PANZA
8PM-5AM
£35 ADV

Why wait for summer to enjoy another festival? The King’s Crossover is bringing Carnival and Cabaret to north London, spreading an extravaganza of entertainment along both sides of Pentonville Road. There will be a vast variety of music and entertainment, open air and space so you can enjoy your New Year’s Eve in comfortable surroundings.

On one side of the road ‘Observer Best Bar of 2008’ Camino will be transformed into a retro Latin fiesta courtesy of White Mischief, the leading light on London’s New Vaudeville scene. The residents of this Hispanic hothouse include Spanish snake dancers and sword fighters while Tango partners whirl across the open-air courtyard amidst fire-breathers. Live musicians will entertain before midnight and then a DJ will take up the decks. Jazz, Blues, Rock’n’Roll and Latino will provide the soundtrack to the combination of circus, cabaret, comedy, interactive theatre, and plenty of surprises.

On the other side of Pentonville Road Sancho Panza is bringing the Carnival to Big Chill House. Famed for over 15 years of summer boat parties and a massive rocking stage at Notting Hill Carnival, the energy to create fantastic and joyful events is undiminished. The Panza boys will be rummaging deep in dusty boxes and promising a true party-set spanning the history of their hedonism as well as welcoming guest Eren. This is man behind the original bootleg of Candi Statons’ ‘You’ve Got the Love’, who has been Djing for over 25 years. In addition Big Chill resident Aldo Vanucci will be heading up Room 2 and Sancho Panza are bringing in their own AV crew to paint the space in light and transform Big Chill House, bringing revellers a constant selection of visual treats.

Tickets are strictly limited to this unique night to ensure a comfortable start to 2009. Holders will receive a wristband to allow them to hop skip and jump as often as they wish between Carnival and Cabaret. They will follow neon sign posts, ribbons and balloons and be escorted by their very own lollypop lady - who will swap her lolly for a brolly if there is any drizzle.

At midnight the Latin fiesta will count down the Noche Vieja in the traditional way with 12 grapes, one eaten at every chime of the clock tower bell. Over at the carnival there will be a huge AV build-up and the New Year will explode in with one hell of a tune and a shower of glitter and confetti.
