DSI Meet Up - February
I'm thinking the Big Chill House in King's Cross. Nice and central and near a major station.

Who's up for this?

You can tell it's January, a thread about a pissup has turned into a fitness debate.

I used to go every Saturday for 5 years as a teenager, did my BUPA lessons then just skated for the enjoyment of it, even did a bit of hockey training but was crap with a stick. Gave up when I was 15 but went for the first time in 10 years a few days after Xmas and all the enjoyment I had came back to me so I've decided to try an start going every week with a few mates that play hockey.

I was really chuffed how quickly it all came back to me, obviously was a bit shady but could still boot it and do big hockey stops at speed, and that was in the rank hire skates. My mates lending me his old boots tomorrow, gonna get myself a cheapo pair on payday =)

If you get into the frame of mind that eating healthy can be an enjoyable thing it makes it so much easier. Then it also means you can eat things considered unhealthy every now and again and not feel guilty! Eat less, move more.

Is xtrainer or rowing better for beerwobblings??

I can never work it out.

x trainer all day. Or just go and use the power plates.

Rowing is great to build up massive shoulders Laura. Useful for all the rugby you dont play

it's either Wii exercising or no exercising. So however good or not so good it actually is, it's still miles better than my previous exercise regime.

I reckon your fingers and wrists and forearms have ultimate muscle from all the repetitive movement while DJing. Arms like Popeye I reckon! ;)

Yeah that's my current routine, I started off just exercising at home with push ups and sit ups and then did more days at home then switched to more days at a gym instead, it's been a steady progression over a couple years. I've only been doing a routine of this "calibre" for the past 6 months. I swear I wouldn't be coming on here telling you a porkie about something like that, that'd be pretty sad of me. However, not saying that I'm bulked / big or anything but when you met me I did have on (all night long might I add) a massive, massive oversized fishtail parka :) and all my pics on DSI are a couple of years old. I'm pretty toned and also I only weigh 70.1KG so if you look back at the squats for example I am squating my body weight and a tad which is good because I've been at it for a while now but when you see other people at the gym I go to (one of those dirty men only steriod places) it's sort of put in perspective since colleagues of mine are squating 110KG. Hopefully I aim to be flat benching 60KG by end of Feb at latest and increase by squats to 80KG. I'd be proud of that.
