As London starts to wind up for the Christmas rush, so begins the countdown to the neW year. Another season of MAD work do’s, club nights and birthdays (everyone seems to be born around December. A lot of shagging must indeed take place in springtime). After throwing parties nearly every week since march 4th this year (this is actually going to be our 33rd event), we’ve decided finish off and take a couple weeks break. Vacations, family, rest and snow boarding have taken our interests temporarily hostage and so we end here on what promises to be the most extravagant Sash ever.
Inspired by the lovely Tania Von Pears recent photo shoot, we have decided to make this the first themed Sash event. Decadent attire, sexy outfits, seasonal jolly – call it what you will but what better time to get dressed up into our Sunday best and enjoy a good frolic al musica?
In fact, we’re giving anyone who makes an effort in dressing up a special entry price. Guys will get in for £5 and girls are FREE! Say what?! Yep, ho ho ho, that’s right FREE entry to all you sexy girls who spend so much time looking great. (By the way guys, we mean a real effort, not a bin bag over your head… although that would be an improvement on some of the costumes we’ve seen in the past). So, just to recap, think 19th Century French brothel at Christmas time… Give Santa an excuse for those rosy cheeks.
So, joining us looking fabulous, we’ve got our resident trio gracing the ol’ Wheels o’ Injection Molded Plastic… (doesn’t have the same ring to it really) – Dominique Danielle, who consistently delivers top drawer Sunday performances, Ben Dela Pena, who will have you involuntarily convulsing like a sac of rabbits in the spring-time and of course one of your hosts Brad 212 Finlay, the chameleon who greedily plays everything from deep soulful house to hard German shyza and keep minds twisted through the day.
Our special guest needs not much introduction but, for those of you who happened to be in deep set coma for the past 5 years, meet Tania Von Pear.
As the name of her party suggests, Tania von Pear is Going Places! Over the last three years her bookings have spanned the globe while maintaining a growing London fan base through her residency with Going Places. Never one to stand still, Tania's been busy creating a new production outfit Velvet, hosting her global weekly show for Ministry of Sound Radio, writing a monthly column for M8 magazine and Beatportal and plenty more.
As resident and co-promoter of GOING PLACES with Sedition DJs, playing at The Gallery every month helped Tania perfect her house sound which combines tough beats with jackin' funk-fuelled rhythms all designed to work any dance floor into a mass of heaving bodies. The growing popularity of the night with Tania at the helm lead to bookings across Europe; highlights include representing The Gallery as their house resident at the 3,000 capacity Movistar Arena in Barcelona and headlining the super-cool Frau Marleen in Italy alongside names like Pete Heller and Nic Fanciulli. Her biggest market continues to be Russia where she regularly travels as well as trips further a field to Argentina, South Africa and India and dates all over the UK for nights like Hat-Club and Taste.
Aside from co-promoting and holding a residency for Going Places, Tania has plenty of other tricks up her sleeve including hosting her longstanding Pear Music Live show on Ministry of Sound Radio. With the guest list of DJs to appear on the show that reads like a who's who of dance music including David Guetta, DJ Disciple and Tom Middleton, it's easy to see why her weekly foray into the finest underground house music remains one of the most popular on the station.
