When The Cross closed due to 'area redevelopment' in 2008 London's clubber mourned the loss of one of its most popular venues. But in January this year, Mixmag discovered the ex-nightclub was a listed building meaning it can't be knocked down during the re-vamp of Kings Cross. Now we've discovered the head of the area's redevelopment is keen for the club to reopen. When asked by The Times if he'd like the club to reopen, Roger Madelin of the redevelopment company said “We do want to keep a certain edginess in the area, otherwise it would lose its historical value.” Fingers crossed, the club will return to put its edgy stamp back on the area soon.
