Renaissance gig 29th Jan
After being raved at about how great The X is, as well as Renaissance, I was persuaded to go with my mates. The X has to be the friendliest club in London by far. (particularly after going to Pacha 4 times last year, where everyone is scared to look at you let alone talk to you!!) Very refreshing.

My only gripe was with the music itself. Not really all that uplifting, particularly the middle room. Spoke to heaps of people that night who felt the same, that they were let down by the DJ's. Took until 3am to kick off really, which is a real shame, when I'm used to great music all night with 'Hed Kandi' and Norman J etc....

Will definately go back to the cross, but not necessarily to a Renaissance night.

I was rennaissance on Sat too, have to say I do agree.. We spent the best part of the night in the small room it was kicking in there. Dark room got a bit heavy and the middle room got going about 2 ish I felt.

Have to agree on the X being the friendliest place.. MY FAV London club by far... Funny aint it when you think the X Pacha nd Canvas all owned by the same people.....

AS for PACHA... if it gets any further up it's own ass on a hed kandi night it's in danger of dissapearing.... Wont be going again after the last one, the magic has gone in my book far too commercial now...

Hey 'Serious' at the X is a great night.

Steve.

heading to the x this sat have been to the x a few times it is a great place to go, the crowd is alway tip top. I have not seen xpress 2 as yet i have heard the rock, what sort of stuff can i expect from these guys?

X-press 2 can be a bit hit and miss, sometimes I find they're just-the-right-side of chunky tech-house to be interesting, whilst on other occasions they can drift into heedlessly repetetive periods of beat-heavy drivel.

Worth a crack tho.

Saw X Press 2 at the X last year, and yeah, it all got a bit tedious and self-indulgent towards the end, though earlier on it was really good techy acid-y stuff.. mmmm.

Think the X is a great venue, but the crowd can be hit and miss, and not too keen on the way the dance floors are laid out so you have people constantly moving through them to get to another area. However, went to Fiction on Friday and had a great night- really friendly, mixed crowd, and diverse selection of music.. from tech to funky, with everything in between..

gutted missed this. renaissance is one of the best nights in the UK. the music was prob not to you liking. usually prog house, and is the best that you will come across in the world. zabiela alone should have blown you away. The Cross is the best club in london, goes without saying.
