More evidence for the re-opening of The Cross

When The Cross closed due to 'area redevelopment' in 2008 London's clubber mourned the loss of one of its most popular venues.

But in January this year, Mixmag discovered the ex-nightclub was a listed building meaning it can't be knocked down during the re-vamp of Kings Cross.

Now we've discovered the head of the area's redevelopment is keen for the club to reopen.

When asked by The Times if he'd like the club to reopen, Roger Madelin of the redevelopment company said “We do want to keep a certain edginess in the area, otherwise it would lose its historical value.”

Fingers crossed, the club will return to put its edgy stamp back on the area soon.

This is the best news Ive heard in a while... The Cross was by far my favourite club... I hope to see it re open... that would be epic!!!!!! I spent my 21st birthday in the Cross!

The cross sucked ass!!!!!! The dancefloor were the walkways.....always really annoying people wanting to walk from one room to the next inturrupting my mojo!!!!!!

However i agree with Bex comment earlier.........I miss Bagleys too!!!!!!!!! (wipes tear from eye) That place was my spiritual home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would however be over the moon if they re-opened Bagleys

That should be a bannable offence! I've had some of the best nights of my life in the Cross. It had such an atmosphere that you just dont get with the clubs in London anymore

Saying that i think you spotted me in there once ;-)

I just never really had a thumping night in there that's all.....I know plenty of people who have though.

In my opinion Bagleys wins over the cross.

The whole London scene is going through a HUGE change at the moment and any change at the moment i feel will be greatly accepted.

I agree. Clubbing in London, in it's current form, holds very little appeal to me. This city is crying out for a decent club to open up

Hidden had it's place but the great thing about the cross was the huge variety of events that happened there. The fact that you had to know where the club was meant that you didn't get passing traffic and 'part time clubbers ' were a rarity

best club in london & hope it reopens soon! the outdoor area is superb as well & cant beat the atmosphere/vibe in there! bagleys/canvas it too big in comparison & only very few parties work in there in conjunction with the key as well but the cross beats them all hands down.
