Refund please
Hi,

Having just been refused entry due to the venue being over sold how and when will we get our money back.

Would like to say more but to pissed off about what has happened. To be fair the door staff were polite but just as fed up as we were with having to turn people away. As a space and cross regular im gutted that we'v missed last one.

We were not the only ones being turned away but I suppose who really cares as long as the promoter gets their money...

Its not the way that I wanted to remember Space@Cross

I totally agree with you. I bought 5 VIP tickets about 3 months ago with A-list, and came from brick lane to the cross with friends from Aus who were super excited about Cross NYE! Cannot believe they would shaft people like this on NYE!!!

You didn't miss out on much, the over crowding was ridiculous, no room to dance anywhere, packed like sardines in every inch of the club...

It was ridiculous how they were turning people away that had bought tickets well in advance, especially as they were also selling tickets on the door when I got there around 11....

Where do we make a formal complaint? I agree with the above comments, it was absolutely rammed inside and out.

The door staff were extremely rude to our group with no antaganisation on our behalf. We paid for VIP tickets - what was the point? There was no VIP area so why the hell did we pay extra?

I understand that it was going be a busy night due to it being "The last party ever" but the way we were treated was ridiculous. We stepped outside to grab a bite to eat at 7am just to be told we had to que again and pay again!

I really enjoyed the music - throught it was the some of the best I've ever heard, but the night was spoilt by the rude door staff and ill-equiped bar staff (with sometimes only one person running the bar!)

It's really shite that people with tickets were turned away. It was far too rammed, but the music was absolutely class.

i must have missed something - thought the music was distinctly average-especially considering how good it used to be at space.
though even with the crowding, still was a wicked night and a great send off to the best club in the land
RIP Cross.

Guys i have to empathise with you re the entry situation.
I myself had a guestlist of 20 + for the after party and only had 2 get in and i was one of the lucky ones to be playing at this event.
As for the above comment that the music was average, i could not agree less!
I have played at every Space in 07 and this one was head and tails above the rest.

I had the pleaseure of playing in the marquee and middle room and for different reasons memories of both will live with me for a long long time.

Also receiving comments like "your set was amazing, the best i have ever heard" cant be a bad thing!

I will be doing a Space review for the event so keep a look out and please feel free to comment!

1) water
2) tonic water
3) coke
4) vodka..

total joke.. my friend that got her VIP ticket in October tried 3 times to get in and had no luck and like the rest of u is bloody fumming at the waste of a new year... so lets get together and
sort this out!!! it should not be allowed to happen!!

well the music may have been better at the afterhours but the evening was not the usual party/get the crowd jumping house it used to be at space.felt it was more tech and a little too experimental.
was hoping for some real filth and bangin beats for NYE and the end to the cross but ended up bored by 8am.
still much enjoyed and a great loss to all party lovers.

Its good to hear that most had a great time but sorry to hear that so many had the same probs as us with being refused entry, wonder how many were turned away?

We did ask the door staff if we could wait around and do a 1out 1 in entry system but were very simply told not to bother as Alist had oversold the event and they had been told not to let anybody else in regardless.

Still pissed off even now, got our tickets in september as we knew it would be a stunning night. Just wonder how long its going to be to get our money back, not that it really matters as you could never replace a night like that..

Absolute rubbish. We hung around for 4 hours (12.00-04.00) not once did Alist or whoever the promoter is come to apologise to everyone. We'd even checked the day before on the last entry time and was told 4am. A ticket only event should not be oversold, it's the golden rule of event management - don't be greedy. Sadly this last night will be remembered as a pile of shite. Even those that got in had a nightmare at the bars & toilets with overcrowding. If you used TicketWeb then you will get a refund, call them on 08444 999 999. Vote with your feet next time Space do something - don't bother going.
