Hi,

Having just been refused entry due to the venue being over sold how and when will we get our money back.

Would like to say more but to pissed off about what has happened. To be fair the door staff were polite but just as fed up as we were with having to turn people away. As a space and cross regular im gutted that we'v missed last one.

We were not the only ones being turned away but I suppose who really cares as long as the promoter gets their money...

Its not the way that I wanted to remember Space@Cross

I have been going to The Cross for about 11 years and it is such a shame that a promotion like SPACE had to ruin the last night at The Cross. The crowd was spot on, in fact it was a superb Cross crowd, however there were just too many people. Typical greedy promoters, wanting to cash in on the whole NYE/Cross closing thing. People buying VIP tickets were blatantly ripped off. VIP Tickets were sold at up to £40 above the asking price (standard tickets were £30-£35) with the promise of free entry to the after party, VIP area etc etc.

Obviously none of the above materialised, so people paid the extra money for f*ck all!

The place was electric on NYE, but how can you have a good time when it takes your girlfriend 45mins to an hour to use the toilet and a similar amount of time to get served at a bar. I'm sure The Cross staff and management did the best they could under the circumstances, but what can they do when that amount of people turn up... Especially the Barmaid by the third room, what a legend, she was more f*cked then most of the people in the club.

As I said, such a shame because I have soooo many memories (or at least I think I have) of seeing some of the best DJs and meeting excellent people.

Above comments noted and bizarrely I was one of the "privileged" VIP ticket holders to actually be allowed entrance - I didn't realise the extent of the problems til I saw these posts. I'm still looking for some compensation though for inconvenience and lack of VIP benefits the Cross agreed to provide through its website - can anyone tell me the legal owner of the Cross?

I have been going to the cross for over 11 years. I got to the cross at about 11.00 took 40 mins to put my coat in, simular time to get a drink. I have had some of the best nights at that club in the past but this was my worst night there and worst NYE. It was oversold and well over capacity of the club. I only stayed for 4 hours and didn't get to stay to the afterparty as planned because I was so pissed of with it. I am wondering where I stand legally, I might contact ticket web where I bought the tickets and my credit card. I think I was sold this under false terms and think that the club was filled to dangerous levels should there be a fire or some other disaster.

I agree with everyone on here!!!!!
My partner and I arrived there and had to wait for 2 HOURS with VIP tickets, we were guaranteed queue jump like all the other vips on here. I paid extra for a ticket that gave me no perks wat so ever.

Secondly I turned around to speak to my partner and the door staff/security turned around and shouted in my face to SHUT UP, i looked at him and said excuse me, I was talking to my partner and it had no relevance to anything or anyone there, then he told me I was a stupid girl and If i answered back again I would not be allowed in. Did this guy think he was my father'? Again I replied that I was talking to my partner and was told to shut up again.
Is this really how to treat sum1 who was being completely curteous waiting for 2 hours to get into a club?????? I understadn they could be stressed due to the massive queues but reserved that attitude and behaviour to sum1 who deserves it!!!!

Thirdly, I paid for my ticket and I knw I had to show my card to be allowed in, BUT people with actual paper tickets in their hand were being called in to go on in before us even though our 'virtual' tickets had also already been paid for, we asked why and the lady just told us that poeple with tickets had the right to enter first??

Whats going on here? We both travelled to London expecially for this night and paid extra for a ticket when I might aswell have paid less as regardless of what was paid and what the tickets allowed us to do we were all treated the same!!!!

Why would over book the club in these numbers and why wud you let the drink supplies run down so quickly??

I would like my money back, can anyone help me with contacting sum1? Cause I hope u all agree but the night was a disaster!!!!! Very disappointed The Cross

I got there early (around 10:30 pm) - things were sane in the ticket queue then...I guess I missed out on most of the madness...but some friends with tickets who should have joined me couldn't get in either.

I think they got the worst of it...that was a shame, because we'd arranged our plans to do Cross closing straight after coming back from the Ibiza closing parties...and like many others, they'd journeyed from outside London to get there.

If anybody does get any success - can they post what they did so I help them out.

I got to the cross at about 11.00 took 40 mins to put my coat in, simular time to get a drink.

It was the same at Canvas... 45 mins to have a wee for the girls too! I was gutted about the coat thing as when I wanted to leave I had to join the queue of people still waiting to put their coats in so not only did I wait about 30 mins to put the coat in I then waited about 40 mins to take it home again!

Well, for a few hours - fortunately, we got there before 10pm and got in very quickly - we had an amazing time. Then it became very clear that far too many people were let in. I would say that most of the time not many people were dancing because it was too packed. Dangerously so. I would be very surprised if Mr "A-List" gives any refunds whatsoever. Good luck if you try but don't hold out any great hopes. It is quite simply a pile of shite to rip off anybody. But! to rip off the people who support over a long period of time is loathsome. The other thing that gets to me is that the DJ's on the night are not DJ's who are big hitters and command big fees. Well known around London but that's about it. Nothing special in the music either so, given that it was basically a "Space residents night", where DJ's would need to be paid a bit more, why charge so much in the first place? People working on the night would need to be paid more but that is not much more out of such huge charges. Then, to charge more for a VIP / queue jump ticket, which clearly was never going to happen, is greed at it's dirtiest. I note no replies from yer man "A-List" on these pages. Too busy counting his winnings, I surmise.

This is shamefull. I think it's an outrage.

To be honest after hearing all this I reckon I'm going to boycott the Cross in future. I don't think I'll ever go back there again if this is how they treat their paying punters.

Who's with me?

the only people to blame here are the cross owners and space promoters.
there were loads of different ticket outlets all selling their portion of tickets.
they're not to know how many are on sale overall. i defintely sympathise with those not allowed in all night as that is so shit.as for the crowds inside,it was NYE and the closing down party.what the fuck do you expect??yes it was murder for women going to the toilet and getting a drink but if you came expecting it,it was fine cos you just got on with it and had a laugh.
the cross has gone and i would like to concentrate on the wicked things that place has brought us and what was still a quality night despite the issues raised.

VIP? what VIP? it is a joke!! I paid for VIP tickets also, only to get to the door and be told no wrist bands, no VIP, everyone who is here can stay for the afterparty etc etc. Night off to a bad start already!!

I am glad I went, but I didn't particularly enjoy myself. It was packed, which was expected, and not that bad as it cleared a bit after midnight. They ran out of drink which is pathetic, and I thought the music was very poor.

I went with a group of 10 people and eveyone of us felt disappointed with our night........!

Sorry, but all you (for want of a better word) twats saying

"well I was alright, the place inside was OK, who gives a shit about those poor c*nts that had shelled out all that money, and looked forward to the biggest night of the year, and got told to fuck off by the bouncers and got a big 2 fingers from all involed"

Need to have a long f*cking look at yourselves. This is nothing short of a scandal, and we all know where the blame lies - greedy promoters.

Does it not occur to you lot that it could be YOU next time who's treated in this outrageous manner? How would you feel?

Is there really no sense of solidarity left for 'the guys on the floor' these days?

An in any case, all you honeymooners really want to stick you head out there. There's a lot better do's than Space on the cards. Never have I ever heard of a promoter have such borderline criminal lack of respect for it's punters. You are all the mugs for following it, and there's only one way these c*nts will learn.

More importantly, there's only one way that you won't be left outside on an AList night out - DON'T GO TO THEM!

I've been around, and I know other promoters and promotions. Guys and girls that put their heart and soul into every aspect of the night out, not just rely on young peoples niaveity or a large email distribution list. They do their research, get to know thei audience, and live for everyone in the venue having the very best of times. Not just lining their pockets to buy their next henry of coke.

I would apologise for the rant though I think I'm only saying what the hundreds of viewers must be thinking. And frankly I'm not sorry!

Got there at 11.30, straight in on the Vip tickets - great ! but then couldnt even get to the cloakroom for people, ended up standing in the outside terrace in pouring rain just to have some room. couldnt stand it no more and knew there was still more people coming in !

left at 11.55.

spent 12.00 getting a cuppa tea at the burger bar.

then a further 3.5 hours getting home on public transport thru london.

Next year think i will just stay in.
