Erol killed it - what a blast.
The good: Erol was epic. And i mean Epic. I had VERY high expectations, and he exceeded them all. I must admit I've never seen someone as good as him - absolutely awesome. To top it off he's a really friendly guy, too - would shake the hands of the people in front of him, and overall had a very cool attitude.

Riotous Rockers were good and so was Brodinski. I had a good time dancing during both sets.

The bad: Erol's set lasted only 2 hours - what a shame, but I can't complain - it was the best 2 hours spent in a club.

On a more negative note, I wasn't impressed by the club itself. "The End" is a nicely built venue centrally located in London, and with that come some of the issues tied in to the "London Clubs" - heavy handed, omnipresent security, some rude bar staff and a feeling you're just #234 of 500 and not a valued guest. Security doesn't hesitate to push you aside for the silliest reasons. It makes no good sense - Canvas was just as big if not bigger and security there was present but invisible, the way it should be.

Then there's the rip offs. The guy selling the tickets to "Jaded" asked me for 5 pounds, then when I presented him the note he grabbed it and said "I said 10 pounds". I insisted he had said 5, he then just smirked and sent me on my 'merry' way. Worse, the bar staff at Jaded shortchanged me twice (I guess I"m just naive so it took me a while to realize), then at one point simply didn't even bother returning the change over a 20 pound note. After insisting he brought me a few quids back and a clear warning he'd call security if 'it happened again'. I ended up not drinking anymore because I simply didn't need the aggro when I celebrate my 30th birthday, you see big_smile

So as you can see, it's a world of difference with clubs like the now-defunct Canvas or even Turnmills. Don't expect a friendly attitude and you'll be fine, I guess, but in the meantime short of a groundbreaking act such as Erol, I'll personally will (try to) avoid this venue.

However - Bugged out gets 11/10, as usual. Strongly recommended.
