Top Night & Start of a new Era at the Fridge!
Most people who have been to the Fridge in the last year will have probably been put off going because of the frequently occuring trouble caused by a group of kantonese/orientals but it looks like the Fridge, the club once known as the No1 Dance venue is on a come back and Hectic on Saturday night was definitely the first night I've seen at the Fridge in the long time that had the place rocking.

I've always loved the Fridge as a venue but the fights etc did always worry me never sure what to expect but under new management the place has decided to deal with everything head on and have gone to extreme lengths to ensure the club is a far safer place to have a great night out and this was definitely true on Saturday. Dealing with troubles like what the place has encountered can't be easy and must come with issues in itself so well done and good luck to Colin (the new manager) and the rest of the team.

Back to Saturday Night....

There was none of the troublesome crowd insight and with a truly up for it crowd it was one of the best nights out I've had in a long time!!

The hectic team changed the layout and placed the DJs on the stage which in my opinion works so much better, I was with the Sugah Dee Girls dancing on the night and I think I can talk for us all when I say it makes it so much more interactive to have the DJ nearby.

The lineup pulled together some of the leading names in hard dance and every set was nothing less than what you would expect from those at the top of the game and the largest crowd I have seen at the Fridge in a long time turned out to stomp the night away.

My highlights had to include the psy trance set, i wasnt quite sure how this would work especially on a night predominatly hard dance but it combined the elements of hard dance we all love with psy trance to create an absolutely brilliant set and from what I understand it was Micky Fallout's first time playing this way and I really hope it isnt the last - well done!

Another highlight had to be when in true party mad DJ style Carl Nicholson decided to jump on stage with me and the other girls and dance to Nick Sentience's set.... maybe a career change is on the cards and we have the latest recruit to Sugah Dee's?!?!

Hectic UK certainly know how to throw a great party and it looks like there are a number planned for the next year so keep your eyes out/join the group for details of those.

And finally a massive congratulations to the man behind Hectic UK - Tony Duzzit, many of you might not be aware by Tony became a daddy 4 weeks ago and I think we all know how something like that can take up all your time so well done for managing to organise Hectic amongst everything else.

placed the DJs on the stage which in my opinion works so much better

BUT you end up losing half the space on the stage (which is crap for the spinners) and you dont have the energy triangle going on with the crowd. Plus you can't see the DJ having it as much unless you A) stand sideways or B) have eyes in the backof your head.

Its was fantastic to see the Fridge nice and busy again, i had loads of people coming up and saying that it was the busiest they had seen it in ages. This has to go to everyone that came along to support the club they love and the promotion they wanted to see in the Fridge after all these years. The Fridge looks awsome at the moment, very clean and the club staff worked very proffesionaly to make sure this event went according to plan.

Nick Sntience and Ed Real spun a purely perfect sound that we crave at Hectic, Carl Nicholson Micky Fallout Lisa London Jk, Andy McCall, Bilbstar and Rick OShea also played quality tunage that sets our promotional sound wave which can only be heard at Hectic.

Massive shout to The United Funk Organisation for their part in this historical and emotional party, Ben Holder, Aslan, Ben Yong, Grant Phillps, Moni, Miss Cazdee and Paul Precise all smashed the Ice box with their unique blend of everything funky, i heard Electro, Funky House, Progressive and a little bit of Tribal which kept the divercity on par with the main room.

We had over 500 people in by 430am and people still seemed to be turning up right till the end.

Thanks to the management and sweet as a nut door security for a night that i personally will never forget, also thanks to all the Suger Dee dancers for mobbing our stage right till the end........ you guys and girls will be our resident dancers from now on!!!

Keep your eyes peeled for HecticUK in 2008, Fridge is our new home...... Good times ahead!!!

Thanks Tony Duzzit

ps hope you enjoyed my brand new set too........ SMASHIN
