As definitely one of the most innovative players in the minimal / techno scene, we are proud to have Kanio aka Ed Kane playing for RYB @ The Gramaphone this Friday 8th May. RACK YOU BRAINS: ''To rack one's brains is to strain mentally to recall or to understand something''.

The aim is to get people to understand the most forward thinking and cutting edge music and if you haven't converted hopefully to gain a few more converts! ;)

RYB has been created by the people that brought you 'Electronic Boutique', which after a year of festivities has branched out and teamed up with 'Local Produce' who continue to put on quality nights across London going from East to West. These two nights have put on regular parties everywhere in London including the back room @ Pacha, 54 Commercial St/ Mile End, Cherry Jam, Vibe Bar, Hoxton Pony and Dogstar

These Two nights combined have seen the likes of Timo Garcia, Clint Lee, Mark Dale, Delta 7even, Live Tech Rebelz, Shaun Soomro and Laura Heath amongst other future London heroes supported by their residents: Felipe Kastegliano and Luso.

***KANIO (Novakane Records)***
After some time in the music industry under various aliases Kanio smashed his way onto the minimal techno scene in late 2007 with a string of chart topping productions. Widely regarded as the largest download site worldwide, Kanio’s productions have regularly featured in the minimal & techno charts on Beatport. In little more than a year he has achieved a massive 5 top tens and a further 7 top 20's, cementing his position on the worldwide minimal and techno scenes, and becoming nominated for best minimal artist at the Beatport music awards 2009. Off the back of this swift rise, September 2008 saw the launch of his Novakane imprint, already swiftly following suit in terms of sales success.

Besides Novakane, Kanio has signed tracks, and had remixes commissioned to labels such as Traum, Yellow Tail, Autist, Stereo Seven Plus, and Italo Business. Kanio’s work has been supported by some major players, from Richie Hawtin to Audiojack to Claude Von Stroke, and has regularly featured on BBC Radio 1’s dance shows. Gigs have come thick and fast for Kanio; he has already secured regular appearances at some of the UK’s hottest parties including Jaded at The End, Ketoloco, Redlight and Wet Yourself. Furthermore he is set to embark on his fourth tour of Brazil and has played in more different European cities than you can shake a fucking big stick at. Watch out for this talented DJ/Producer, He is sure to rock any dancefloor with his energetic mix of groovy minimal tech.

***TOM HUDDART (Get Diverted/ Jaded)***
A regular on the clubbing scene for many years, Tom Huddart has spun the decks at all the Capital’s premier venues and lurked in dark corners at many an underground haunt too. Playing at The Cross, Turnmills, Minstry of Sound and Egg, as well as underground venues like 54, Fluid and AKA, he will most certainly have rocked a dancefloor near you.

Always able to adapt his style to suit the occasion, Tom will instantly make you feel home. Playing his distinctive blend of deep house, tech house and techno that is as adaptable to peak time slots as it is to lazy Sunday afternoon grooves, it’s no surprise Tom Huddart is in demand. If you have caught him at Sunday morning institution Jaded, South London’s hottest Saturday night Get Diverted, or perhaps at one of the other many parties he has appeared at lately, then you’ll have noticed Tom’s distinctive style always gets feet moving.

***FELIPE KASTEGLIANO (RYB/ Electronic Boutique/ Mixmag)***
Has played everywhere across the board going from Opera House in Bournemouth, to well known clubs in London like PACHA, MINISTRY OF SOUND, THE EGG, THE CROSS, THE KEY, AQUARIUM, MEDICINE BAR, HIDDEN, CLUB SIN, 54 amongst others to playing on a yacht in Majorca and the south of France, to flying out to MONACO, to flying across the Atlantic to play in Colombia (South America) and Miami. Felipe has played for many big nights in London like the Mixmag Tour (London), Gallery, Maximal, Prologue, Stikky Pit and London Social Club amongst others. He has also held various residencies for different London promotions like The Island Saturdays, Twisted Disco (The Cross), Beautiful, The mighty TwoAM afterparty, amongst others and of course his own Electronic Boutique.

***LUSO (RYB / Local Produce)***
The DJ/Producer pairing and residents of Local Produce (running monthly @ The Hoxton Pony) have been rocking the London club scene for the past few years with their upfront deep tech house sets. With roots in the London Pirate radio scene these guys have lived music and having played all over the place from PACHA to BAR 54 to BAGLEYS (for those that remember!) are definitely two to watch out for!
