Well what can I say
Well what can I say !!!!!!!!!

After weeks and weeks of stress and another Guilty heaven finally reached The Island to support the Mighty Fierce Angel. All at GH saw this as a very great privilege to asked to be part of one of the best parties around. On the night it all went very smooth from pickups in Margate and Folkestone to getting there, doing the job and getting home. The toughest job with The Island is getting people to go to a club that is little known. Had this been at Pacha, MOS etc life would have been a breeze. However there were still plenty of peeps willing to try the venue for the first time. I can only re-iterate that the venue is a great club, looks good and great sound system ..... if I haven't already said that before ;-).

It is hard work for promoters like GH as we have to travel so far for big nights out. Being stuck out on a limb on the SE coast all we can do is travel in land. Thus this gig required the cost of 2 coaches as well as walk in tickets to fullfill our numbers. All of those met in a local bar to have a drink and meet each other before boarding the coach for fantastic night out. Many clubs and promoters in London do not realise the amount of hard work that goes in to getting our crowd to and from. Also coastal towns are predominantely commercial when it comes to the music and this also has a knock on effect when trying to pull in a crowd to listen to a House night anywhere, let alone travel to London for it. The good thing for us is that Fierce Angel fully appreciated what we had managed to achieve, a pat on the back is always good. There are not many promotions that arrange everything for their clubbers including transport, all for a very reasonable price. All I can say is that if you are a promoter in London is ........ You've got it easy !!!!!!!

What can people expect from a Guilty Heaven night? Fun and a damn good night out. Every gig GH has ever done has created an infectious atmosphere that is hard to create by many other promotions. The regulars that continue to support us are some of the nicest club goers that you will ever meet and they definately know how to party. This is probably why the Guilty Heaven brand works so well with Fierce Angel ..... "It's all about the music". With a sublime mix of music for all and very little chance of hearing the same track twice in one night. It's not about glory, it's not about becoming famous, it's not about money .... It's all about creating a party atmosphere that leaves you not wanting the night to end. When you come to a Fierce Angel or a Guilty Heaven night expect only THE very best in House music from some of the very best DJ's around and expect those DJ's to play with passion and pride. The DJ's that play for both brands are cherry picked from many and with that in mind they are loyal to the end.

The night looked promising from the minute the doors opened. A very large queue soon formed, almost the whole length of the Red Carpet. The whole club filled out nicely from the start, which is unusual for a club to be busy before at least 1am. Matt Collins did a sterling job to kick off the main room with some great Funky tracks to suit all accompanied by seasoned percussion player Mr Biff.

Back room was hosted by Guilty Heaven and that room was kicked in to play by Mark Dickson. A fine start indeed that continued the trend for the room to be rammed nearly all night. Style of the back room was to be Dirty, filthy electro, tech and techno. The sets continued to flow with Ian Garner being the only one of all the GH dj’s to grace the vinyl decks. A set that was complimented by many. Good sets were also played by Rob Hatton, Kev Harris, what a great final track, Frenchie The filth Meister, So It Goes has never sounded so good, and finally DJ Ferdinand, bass lines galore. I won’t review each DJ individually on this occasion, much to the surprise of many lol but all I can say is the choice of tunes was of the highest calibre. Mr Biff palyed his heart out on percussion and proved to be a popular addition to the main room.

Head Honcho Mark Doyle seemed to love his set in the main room, so much so that he stayed on an extra half hour. Considering that he was flying off to Dubai in only a few hours this may have seemed a bit of a risk !!! There was a great mix of the new and the truly classic. Mark is a fantastically entertaining DJ who never fails to please his following wherever he plays and it always shows that he is ever grateful for the appreciation the crowd shows to him. This interaction coupled with a shear passion of what he plays is a great recipe for a fantastic show that’s leaves you with the feeling that you have had a good night.

Smooth sets also played by FA residents Justin Wilkes and Martin Wright. By 5am there were still plenty of clubbers still in the venue and it seemed a shame for the night to end. The atmosphere in the club was truly fantastic all night. We have always said that a GH crowd always makes for a great atmosphere. Couple this with Fierce Angel regulars and you were always guaranteed that this was going to be a gig not to miss. The Island isn’t a huge club but that works in its favour. There are no long treks from main room to back room so it is easy to go from one to the other when the need suits and the balcony area gives a great view of the main room.

We at GH had a large contingent that is predominantly hard dance lovers who didn’t really know what to expect from this night and didn’t really know what to expect from the venue. All of them have said that they will definitely be back again because they had such a great night. Those that didn’t manage to make it all I can say is you missed a wicked night make sure you get to one in the near future.

Two very well balanced rooms giving a good all round mix of House to keep everyone happy. The feedback for this night has been nothing but good. GH had 8 DJ’s travel up with them that were NOT playing and all of them enjoyed he night, even if they were itching to play.

A very big thank you to all the DJ’s and percussion that played, for their hard work in selling tickets, I am sure non of those that you sold to went home disappointed. A huge thank you Fierce Angel for the invite to host the back room. Thanks to staff at The Island who helped to make he night go so smooth and of course a special thank you to Mandy and Kate who stood outside all bloody night freezing their bits off meeting and greeting a very large crowd. As said by a few the doorstaff were friendly and no attitude from them or from the clubbers inside. This seems to be par for the course for FA and GH gigs.

This was the busiest FA at The Island yet and GH is hugely proud to have been part of it. It’s goes without saying that the Fierce Angel brand is going from strength to strength. The new re-branding with some great new artwork that distances FA a little further from that other brand that has been closely linked to Mark Doyle, and still continue to be a thorn in his side. Many are aware of some of the very underhand tactics used by that other brand to cause problems with Fierce Angel. All I can say is let us hope that mentality changes soon. Fierce Angel is truly a quality outfit driven by a real passion for the music industry not purely money.

So that was the night over and everyone left the club buzzing and saying just how much they enjoyed the night. Expectation was the highest thing on their list and this night met their highest expectations with most of them craving to come back again. Rounding up best part of 100 coach bound clubbers was easier than you would think. The coaches awaited nicely warmed ready for the Hour and a half trip back to sunny Margate and Folkestone. Everyone chatting about their fave parts of the night and talking quality codshit ..... No better way to round off best part of 12 hours together. Many new faces had joined us and I am sure the regulars made them feel right at home.

Here's to the next one guys and gals. As said before promoting nights like this and organising everything is a major stress but on the night the buzz you get when it all comes together makes it all worth it ..... Thank you all very much !
