Felix Da ROCKcat
Not your usual house club night...

Felix ROCKED the place big time. Literally...

Okay so we've all heard how dance discovered guitars last year - but you can forget your 7 Nation Army / Deep Dish rock-lite.

Yes, we were treated to some of the usual indie-dance suspects like Franz Ferdinand's This Fire, Soulwax's E Talking, Man With Guitar and the ubiquitous Song 2 from Blur...

But I'm talking Miss You from The Rolling Stones, The Killers' Somebody Told Me and even clubber participation during Pink Floyd's Another Brick In The Wall: "We don't need no education..."

So we got our fix of Silver Screen (Shower Scene) and the fantastic Prince track Controversy... BUT then we were beaten into eager submission with Marilyn Manson's howling metal in Beautiful People!!
It's the first time I've seen CROWD-SURFING at a dance event.
The place was rammed, we might have come expecting electro-flavours, but everyone was loving Felix's new rock stylee... Until the plug was pulled an hour early. WTF?!

I asked da Housecat what had happened on the way out. He said something along the lines of, "They cut me off, they didn't dig ma music".
Were The Key's powers-that-be concerned about moshing on their special light-up disco flooring? Or worried Felix was in danger of tearing the roof off? Who knows - we certainly weren't told!

Anyway, here's to mixing things up (seamlessly) and TURNING IT UP TO ELEVEN!! *

* Watch mock-rock-umentary, Spinal Tap if you don't get it!

Yes this was a very special night . . I was not expecting the music we got but surely enjoyed the night . . Great to see some familiar faces . And althought the Key was very VERY full (stay way from the main forr as you couldn't move!) it was a memorable night.

Yeah...felix was very good & yes it was very rammed!

quiet suprised..i didn't expect him to play an almost full on rock set!
None the less...he pulled it off brilliantly & rocked the place proper!

sure he will be back again very soon.

The night was MASSIVE, The best club gig I’ve been to since I saw him in Ibiza last year.
Just think he plays to the crowd so well. And the mix of Techno and Rock that he does so well just worked in a rammed key!!!
And playing “Marilyn Manson's howling metal in Beautiful People” was just perfect and the place exploded!

What a night!!! Loved it!!!

Rich!!

This is promising - considering I'm just starting to DJ out myself - and my whole focus is record selection and style variety
