Platform 12's Extra Special NYE Party
Right, where to start really...

This is probably going to be a really badly written review - I might just go and make a series of points. I've already changed this opening line a few times, clearly I'm still suffering...

Thanks to everyone who, in any way at all, helped and contributed. Everything from the production to the website was spot on - I owe you a huge thanks.

So, NYE, bit of a funny one innit? I mean, inflated door prices, all that hype and anticipation, it takes something a bit special to meet the expectation (what do you think?) but I have to say, on a personal level, I had a blinder. I've often said that the crowd down at Platform 12 is the best around - it's got a great combination full on party people, some proper geeky tune spotters, some huge personalities, some people that look amazing and others that just know how to have a damn good time. It just works and the atmosphere on Sunday was f*cking awesome...

I was either running around sorting little odds and sods or hanging out upstairs for the first couple of hours listening to Euan. His set got things toastie warm early on and it's great to have seen his development over the last few months. Well done mate - it was quality. Being really honest though, I couldn't sit still for more than 2 mins and I think I must've done about 30 loops of the club before I finally got into some proper natter natter with a few of the regulars. It was great to see so many familiar faces and also new people like C-fer, Kate-D (I 'accidentally' grabbed your ass, honest!), Will, The Wrongun and DJ - how did you all go?

I was in Room 1 for the countdown. I spoke to Krafty (playing in room 2) on the phone during the day and he said he'd made a special countdown track to play just before midnight. I was happy to leave him to it and we just needed to get the timing right *laughs* we had to do it the old fashioned way. I gave the signal to Leo, who flashed his phone at Kit in the other DJ booth. It worked a treat!! As I say, I was in room 1 and it was awesome - WHAT AN ATMOSPHERE! Gee, I know you've got a fantastic shot of midnight - can you get it up on here?

The rest is pretty much as you'd expect really... Fantastic music, the Stantons were terrific, Metric was even better and I loved absolutely every second of my set. It's always such a big deal to play to such a knowledgeable and up for it crowd. I could go on all day about how much fun I had, and I spent most of the time just running around, so I hope you punters and fantastic start to 2007.

The only downside was the cloakroom nightmare at the end, I'm not sure what exactly happened but I gave up hope of getting my coat back and just headed straight for the streetdog van. I hope it didn't put too much of a dampener on what was otherwise a fairly seamless night.

Happy New Year everyone - thanks for making 2006 such a successful year for us and here's to doing it all again in 2007.

We're doing a FREE PARTY on Saturday 20th January, which your NYE ticket gets you in for, or you can get tickets via www.platform12music.co.uk.

All the best

Clive and everyone at P12 xxx

aside from almost fainting in the cloak room cue, only to give up after 45 mins and find that our coats were actually UPSTAIRS (how hard is it to organise a cloak room!? - not P12's fault of course!) it was a blast! cant remember about 4 hours but i know i had the best time.. cant wait for the free party :)

Good going peeps,

I had prob the best NYE ever, went to 2 different venues, 1 was an after party then carried on most of NYD back at someones place with a group of friends.

Felt horrible till today, although worth it.

You have to take the rough with the smooth.lol

Happy new year everyone and all the best for 2007 and keep the partying up.

Was a great night all round but some how I seemed to have missed the count down in the top room. I don't think Krafty had a count down and I definitely wasn't incapacitated at that stage???

Oh well I had my own count down at 1pm....I'm sure it was NYE somewhere in the world at the same time. :)

I haven't stopped talking about it all week, a sure sign of a good night! I too have felt hideous all week. I carried on all the way through New Years day and then it was my Birthday on the 2nd...I really did out do myself this time! :o)

I can't help but feel a little smug, so many of my friends didn't bother doing anything or did poop dull parties...I feel so happy that I chose to go for this option it was defo the right decision.

Excellent night! What more can I say...!? I would say I was a House purist until NYE 2006....I am now Breakstastic!

The Key need to be shot for the cloakroom disaster. Me, and several in the queue, were ready to dive in and help at one point but they wouldn't let us... I mean, take the lifeline people ; ) !!

That aside, it was WICKED (i'm told people no longer say this but...eh...f-it i'm being unfashionably fashionable!)

Big love, happy new year and all that jazz!
