1. First of all ladies could you tell us a little background history of how you came to meet and what made you decide you would become the double act that you are?
Well, both had clubbing works and common friends...Became best friends in 2001, during an amazing summer in Ibiza...We liked same kind of music... Then we started djing at the same time....Mr. Hell met us by the time we runned LeChic club... He saw one of our flyers ( so cool, by the way) and thought that we were called leChic as a dj team... He invited us to play at Sonar Closing Party 05. Afterwards we joined the gigolo family as leChic dj team
2. You were running parties back in Madrid not so long ago which were named Le Chic, you then took on that name for your act. What were those events like? and do you or would you like to still throw the parties?
Those were really nice nights but hard. When you are the promoter and resident dj at the same time.... It’s not easy, too much work, and too much worries, from organizing the PR team , to the technical audio problems ..... Nevertheless we had some of the best djs from Spain, Boris Divider, Vicknoise, Miguel Mendoza, Dj Muerto as a guests.
It was a little club with a special atmosphere, where people went to listen good music, our club. We enjoyed having our own crowd... Sometimes we missed it, but in that moment we really preferred to be on the road... Maybe in a future we ´ll try again...
3. This is not your first time in djing London can you tell us about any past experiences and how it was for you both?
We wanted to spend a little holidays in London, and some close friends got us gigs in some underground clubs, Dreams Bag @Jaguar Shoes, Wonky at 54, Being Boiled @Notting Hill Arts & Tesco Disco. We really loved Tesco Disco, with an awesome new rave atmosphere, completely real....Really crazy....We love bands as well as electronic music and London is the perfect city for enjoying them.
4. Back in Spain you have played some of the most well known clubs in cities such as Barcelona and Madrid, you have also preformed at the mighty Sonar Festival among others. Exactly what is the scene like in Spain and how do the Spanish people take to Techno and Electronica?
We think it doesn’t really make a difference along the different countries..... it is pretty much the same all over Europe
5. If you could tip one Spanish DJ/ Producer to make it to the top in the next year, who would you say?
This a very difficult question!!! We could name Sistema, Arkanoid, Marc Marzenit and Damian Schwartz...
6. In recent years you were asked to join DJ Hell for the Sonar closing party "Hell & Friends" since then you have become good friends and have had the pleasure of performing at some of the best clubs and Festivals across Europe travelling to nations such as Germany, Italy, Portugal, Russia, England and of course your homeland Spain. So far where has been your memorable place to play and which place has the most up for it crowds?
So difficult too! We enjoyed a lot in most clubs we´ve permorfed, but maybe Spain is one of the best countries for playing, crowds here are one of the funniest and most amazing worldwide and any foreign artist would say the same.... We specially remember the people from Lovejoy in Gijón last summer...We rocked them there!!!!
Our most memorable party was the first time we played in Berlin,at WMF, lot of well-known djs, producers and other cool people were hangigng out in the place. After our set Hell invited us to close the party with him, like one record each. This was truly memorable
7. You are now signed to Hells label 'International Deejay Gigolos' and the main man himself has asked you to put together and mix the next Gigolo Records CD. How did that feel to be asked, what can we expect from it and when?
As you can imagine it was a big surprise for us, we really didn’t expect such a thing , as we were one of the newest artists in gigolo. The mix will be available by mid- November. You will find a mix with a branch of good tracks, no matter the year they were made or the genre they belong to...
8. We have read that you will now be turning your heads to the production side of things and are planning to release some tracks very soon can you tell us how that is going and what equipment you are using?
We still need some more time to feel like real producers. So far we have used Cubase or Logic, a brunch of different software’s and some friend’s real synthesizers like the Andromeda A6, Virus TI, or an MS-20 Korg... So far we only own a modest Micron from Alesis.
9. Once your productions take off which we're sure they will, if you could chose to collaborate with any artists who would you go for?
Impossible to choose.... there are so many talented producers we would love to work with.... But if we could choose like in a dream, we would say Juan Atkins or Aphex Twin.
