Octane and Squelcher Resident Steinbeck Gets to Know Da Tweekaz - Again!

Once again Octane V Squelcher is being joined by international nutters and superstars in their own rights – Da Tweekaz. Last time we caught up with them we found out some rather interesting facts such as their secret weapons to lure the opposite sex into bed and whether they prefer muffins or cookies! This time we thought we’d try and fire them some more taxing questions and find out how they came to be what they are today!

DJ Thera (Brennan and Heart)
Dj Thera aka Pieter Heijnen grew up in a musical environment, playing for his local radio station as far back as 1994. In 1998, Pieter met Fabian Bohn and the project Brennan Heart was born, in addition to releasing tracks on infamous labels such as Fusion, StraightOn, Scantraxx, Seismic and Multigroove together, Pieter also developed a unique cooperation with superstar DJ Don Diablo, working with him on productions such as “Don Diablo – Anarchy” on ID&T Records and “Orion’s Voice – Cockroaches” from Re-Fuel Records and Overdose including a Dj Scot Project remix.
Thera was the first hardstyle dj to play in Chicago, the USA and Belfast, N-Ireland and has parties such as Defqon1, Q-Base, Frequence and Impulz Outdoor to his name.
Following a quieter period, after the end of Brennan and Heart in 2005, Pieter kick started his dj career in 2008, putting together a new label called Theracords.
Bookings all over the world are the result of these successes with a milestone booking in Vancouver, Canada. Besides that, Theracords label parties have been taken
place in Melbourne (AUS), Belfast (UK) and more coming up soon in Denmark, UK and Australia.

Da Tweekaz
Da Tweekaz, also known as Kenth Kvien and Marcus Nordli, had been making music together for a couple of years before they got into hardstyle. First there was hard trance, then some hard house, hard techno, and in Autumn 2007 they started their careers as hardstyle producers. After completing their first two hardstyle tracks (Angeli Domini and Crowsong), they sent them out to a couple of labels and they have never looked back; Da Tweekaz quickly became a household name in the scene with some amazing and unique productions such as "DayDre4m", "The Past" and "Da Bomba" to name just a few.

After their jaw-dropping performance for us back in November at SeOne, and of course the now infamous Malteser hunt - what could we do but get them back to play again?

D4rK
As one of London’s, and now the UK’s, most recognised hardstyle djs and producers, D4rK has played for almost every big name event in the capital including Frantic, Glowball and Raindance to name but a few. Since the creation of D4rk Records in 2007 and taking on management of Prescence Hardstyle in 2008, he has released 34 tracks, featuring both in the top 20 Hardstyle tunes on www.dance-tunes.com, and in the Hands up for Hardstyle Volumes. With 2009 adding bookings at Bionic to his continually expanding history, 2010 is set to see D4rk hitting the main stages like never before, including forthcoming sets at Transmission @ Alexandra Palace, Frantic Timeless, Ravers Are and Gravity.

Rob Da Rhythm
Over the last six years the demand for Alan Robertson a.k.a Rob Da Rhythm has gone through the roof playing at parties all over the UK every Friday and Saturday, including the likes of Coloursfest @ Breahead Arena, Fantazia @ Breahead Arena, Judgment Day @ RATT, Lashed Republica
@ Arches, Goodgreef Xtra Hard, Parklife @ Strathclyde Park, Species Manchester, Hardcore
Heaven Weekender @ Pontins, Pleasuredome NYE @ Fantasy Island and many more, as well
as holding residencies at Twisted & Brainfire (Gabber) / Impact (Gabber) and Infexious.

Nick the Kid b2b Louk
After buying a set of decks and learning to mix at the tender age of 13 Nick began his djing career whilst still at school. In '95 High Risk (a Southwest under 18's hardcore event) gave him his first residency at 15 and since then he hasn't looked back.
Over the years Nick has built up a solid reputation with his trademark 'uplifting' European hard trance sets and as a result gained many bookings across the UK at leading Clubs & events such as Slammin Vinyl, Atmosphere, Ripsnorter, Bionic, Breathe, Afterdark, HTID/Frantic, North,Tranzaction, Hindsight & Many more!

Louk is proving his worth as one of the bright young talents of the scene, having achieved a fair amount of success in a rather short time, and being described as someone who 'plays like a maniac'. A man who hardly ever sleeps, this is demonstrated by his productions, gigs, promotion, reviews, and an all round dedication for the sinister blend of trance and techno that he has become famed for.

Despite hailing from England, he has a very distinct European sound and loves to play a mash up of Hard Trance and Techno in his sets, basing a love of these genres on a sound he heard at an illegal rave in 2002, at the age of 16, all wide eyed and dribbling. This has resulted in bookings at the likes of Q-Base, Defqon 1, Tunnel, Slammin Vinyl, North Technology, Rectify, Hard Definition, Uprising, Overload, Global Meltdown, Bionic, Premonition and many more. He also regularly plays for Hostile (Newcastle), Atmosphere (Seaton), and Hindsight (Exeter) and held a residency for Eyecon @ Dance Academy in his hometown of Plymouth before it was closed down in 2006.

Steinbeck
Has been an unstoppable force on the Uk hardstyle scene throughout 2009, playing for events such as Implosion gets Hard, Twisted Mayhem and Sinistry, Frantic HDS, Octane and Bionic.
Steinbeck has continually wowed every crowd he plays to, and is continuing to climb to the top ranks of the UK Hardstyle scene as quickly as he appeared.

Jester
Since breaking onto the scene in 2007, Sinistry resident Jester has had dancefloors across the south stomping their feet and waving their hands in the air in equal measure!
After his London debut for us In November, Stu can add bookings such as Frantic NYE under his belt, and has many more surprises in store for 2010.

Kozmix
With a solid background at local nights in Somerset and many more, such as Rave-Olution - Minehead, Rave Genration, Extreme Soundz, Hectic Hard Dance - Bedford, Kozmix burst

onto the London scene playing for Octane @ Mass back in August.

Sinistry room who's who coming soon!!

An all new and very exclusive venue, not previously used for Hard Dance, let alone a Harder styled event!

This venue looks amazing even before the magical Octane and Squelcher decor so be sure to bring your camera for a visual spectacular!

Gone are the nights of tired lasers and the odd monochromatic strobe effects. Instead, Lightbox offers total submersion amongst thousands of pinprick LEDs, each controlled independently or manipulated as one, with the aim being to disseminate mind from body, reality from fiction. Lights line the walls and the ceiling, box clubbers in and add a visual element to a night out as never experienced before. Truth is, Lightbox makes those famed scenes from Saturday Night Fever look like a war torn country during black out.
