The O2 Arena calendar
The arena at The O2 truly creates a new benchmark in what both fan and performer can and should expect from a rock or pop concert in the UK. You will only see the world's hottest and most sought after acts on this stage; Bon Jovi, Justin Timberlake, Scissor Sisters, Prince, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Take That… and what a way to enjoy them. With perfect sight-lines from every angle, crystal clear acoustics, obscenely comfy seating, wide concourses between aisles and a huge variety of snack and drink options to enjoy throughout the show. We've even put paid to that excruciatingly painful and frustrating tradition of the “fifty minute queue for the loo” by fitting 548 toilets. The O2 arena can also be transformed from a concert venue into a breathtaking world class sporting arena within hours and will proudly host major events throughout the year. Tennis, NBA Basketball, NHL Ice Hockey (on our amazing “ice-floor”) and World Championship Boxing – including the much hyped fight between Amir Khan and Willie Limond – will all take place within The O2 arena. The O2 are dedicated to promoting and supporting British sport, and as an official partner of London’s successful bid to host the 2012 Olympic Games we will be hosting both the gymnastics and basketball finals. A free makeover has been offered to London Underground by Ministry of Sound. Ministry of Sound are willing to customise selected jubilee line carriages for free to promote their 2009 New Years event at The O2 arena. After their initial posters were banned due to their 'graffiti like', Ministry Of Sound still plan on marketing this event and make it as public as possible based on the new approved poster design. A Ministry of Sound spokesperson said: “we were disappointed to have to change our posters for New Years Eve, as it has set our marketing back by weeks and cost us over £5000 to change. We hope London Underground will consider our offer to decorate the tube carriages to make this night a memorable one for our excited customers." A temporary wrap will be plastered onto the carriages to maintain structural safety. The line up for their event includes Calvin Harris, Justice, Deadmau5, Eric Prydz and Dave Spoon. Tickets are priced at £75, £50 and £35. They are available from www.minostryofsound.com/Nye02/ or www.ticketmaster.co.uk./ 08444 775 775
I went to see Green Day on Saturday - amazing!
Justice will play Ministry of Sound's NYE event at The O2. This will be the French duo's first UK performance in over a year. Plump DJs have also been added to the bill plus Radio 1 have confirmed they'll be broadcasting live from the event. Justice and the Plumps join Calvin Harris, Deadmau5, Eric Prydz, Dave Spoon and Example making this arguably the hottest ticket in the UK this NYE.
Ministry have announced that Deadmau5 will be joining them for their Ministry Live 09 NYE event at London’s O2 arena. He will be joining Calvin Harris, Eric Prydz and Dave Spoon for what the organisers are promising will be one of the biggest New Year parties in Europe. Tickets are available from 2 October with an option of seated and standing at £50/ £75 + bf. Limited VIP tickets are also available.
Ministry of Sound will be at The O2 this New Year’s Eve with live music from Calvin Harris, plus DJ sets from Eric Prydz and Dave Spoon. In what the organisers are claiming will be one of the biggest NYE parties to ever hit London, Ministry of Sound Live 09 will see the 23,000 capacity venue transformed for clubbers with multiple stages and breathtaking visuals. Also featuring on the bill will be electro-pop rapper Example, plus more acts to be announced soon. Tickets are available from October 2 with an option of seated and standing prices at £50 and £75 + BF respectively. Limited VIP tickets are also available. One question, who wants to sit down for NYE?
