Universal Vibes has been hosting this event at The Prince, right in the heart of Brixton, on the Junction of Coldharbour Lane and Brixton Road, we started this session back in November, and over the last few months its grown into a fantastic monthly session....We're now going to be taking this residency through to the summer, on the second saturday of each month...
Taking its name from one of the in house radio shows on universal vibes, representing the eclectic deep freestyle sounds, taking in a mix of soulful beats and breaks, expect hip hop, broken beats, deep house, nu jazz and latin flavours, music without boundaries...music with universal vibes
On the night we play music that sounds good! from House (proper and deep) to Hip Hop (chunky and soulful), with a dash of broken beats, some disco, funk, soul and a whole pile of eclectic good grooves...
joining us This month is week our guest dj is Bi-Polar and Co-opr8 resident. Kay suzuki, who plays various quality music from old school Soul/Jazz/Funk to Brokenbeat/Detroit Techno/House and everything in between or beyond.
DJing from smokey dark underground clubs to glitzy hotel bars in London and many other countries and cities...he also currently runs own resident night " b i p o l a r " and co-organizes "Patterns" night in South London with Coopr8 label, Simbad and Bopstar. As one of the cutting edge producers in London’s so called 'Broken beat' scene, he's making progressive soul music (not a genre) and releases from BBC award winning club night / Label "Coopr8"(CO-OP).
