Point proven - Well done Tasty!
Tasty promised to prove a point with their huge 5th bday bash - that big events can still provide the quality, respect, and the fuckin banging time that us lot deserve.... and after the disgraces I witnessed at both Wildchild and Sundissential recently I wasnt too expectant. So much so that I didnt bother too have the Friday night in, or even go to bed, like I usually would before a big Saturday night out.......

...So when I bounced out of the renaissance rooms to a 'lovely' Sunday morning in 'beautiful' Vauxhall, I was surprised to be saying it was one of the best nights of my life. Infact I was surprised I was saying anything at-all..... after being reduced to a pissed off silence well before the end of the above mentioned events.

Where do I start...? Well Darren Styles' set was absolutely amazing. How mad did that rammed room go for 'save me'......the floor was shaking!? We were bouncing about so much to it my mate lost his wallet, which would have possibly ruined an otherwise diamond night. However it was retreived by a much friendlier than usually security team, and stashed in the cloakroom - which was also well organised and staffed. So full marks for improving two of the problem areas that can regularly ruin nights. Another area which is often a problem is the toilets, which I can say were very impressive throughout the night, despite the best efforts of some inconsiderate clubbers.

Sound quality across the event was a real surprise. I was amazed with the sound in the Hardcore room, perfect for volume and quality. Still not 100% on the sound when at the back of the main Harddance room, still a bit wishy-washy & quiet, but it was was much improved. Cally Gage still found it easy to put the night into top gear from this room early on with her usual prowess. There was also a good standard of sound in the smaller arenas, which was nice too see (or erm, hear?)

The decor and especially the lighting in the main rooms really impressed, just look at some of the amazing photo's for a reminder. The entertainment was bang on, without being over the top, as is sometimes the case. The live vocals to 'you are my fantasy' and the contagious girls (as always!) were my favourites. The many stalls around the arena's also provided plenty of distraction, if desired.

Its a shame the nu-breed room only got that little corridor of a room this time, as the talent and tunes at both this & the last tasty were really impressive. A dissapointment for me... but Krunchie, Salerno and the Hardsouth crew really rocked it in there anyway to a fresh and filthy set. For such a small room its got a banging loud system, but why were the lights on in there all night??? I s'pose on the plus side you could get right up to the decks and see the nitty-gritty technical side of the action... something of a rare oppertunity at big events.

The bounce2this room.... what an atmosphere, up-for-it crowd, and some crazily fast bouncy tuneage & dancing towards the end!!! A good effort for numbers and dress from their travelling support. Gonna have to get up and check out a B2T event in the very near future I think....!

Comfortable chill-out area's, including the seating and bean-bags outside....another nice touch which other big events tend to overlook. Tasty seem to have it all covered...

And finally and very importantly, the ravers. A diverse bunch from here there and everywhere, but still got that togetherness vibe and met some great people. A lack of the arseholes that can (although rarely) ruin hardcore nights in London. And a good effort with the outfits despite weather conditions that threatened to ruin outfits and hair-do's alike...

So what a night. It just shows that if the promotion team actually give a shit, it is possible to put on big nights that live up to the hype and the price tag. Well done Dan and co.

It was a fucking wicked night!..i wasnt too impressed with the MCing going on in the Hard house room! Im sorry..but its a personal preference thing! Although having said that! ihave heard a lot lot worse (where MC's have ruined HH acts/performances, like BK at Tidy Weekender 9,and Lab 4's Live and extreme set at Supernova), which im happy to say was not the case this time.

Regarding the Contagious Girls + their room...Well...i really dont know what to say that would do them justice..The room, was decked out beautifully!!, and the performances were second to none!! So well done contagious team :D..You rocked :D

The sets in all the rooms i went in were absolutly ace, B2t, Contagious/HH, the hardcore room even (and this is coming from some one who doesnt particularly enjoy Hardcore) ..and last but certainly not least..Hardsouth!...What a pleasure it was to attend in essence, 2 hardsouths in one weekend :D...(and any hardsouther will say exactly the same im sure)

And as always! It was wicked to see lots of new faces, as well as to see some not so new ones in different a different location! hehe!!!

Rave safe people!

I would just like to say a big thank you to everybody who made that night one of the best ever for me, despite losing my wallet and stash I still had a great time. That Darren Styles set was one to remember and Krunchie & Salerno did the business as usual in the nu breed room and also DJ Crista in the bounce2this room was dropping some quality tunes as well, top marks on that one very impressed . once again thank you very much MR Bunter for making this one of the best nights ever, bring on the next one!!!
