This is was my second time at the Renaissance Rooms, first time at out of this world. We arrived at OoTW2 at 9pm. Was sleightly worrying at first, as there were only approx another 5 people waiting to go in; my last visit here was for a Tasty and there was quite a few people milling about and waiting to go in.

Entered the rave and as suspected the ravers were thin on the ground. Never the less those that were there clearly represented the Hardcore crew. From past experience a lack of ravers usually means a lack of dancing, but there were a fair few people stomping away and as the numbers steadily increased so did the stompers.

The rave didn't fill up and needless to say all that was really needed was a smaller venue. As i understand it this should have been the case but another club let the promoter down.

The music was a bit slow to kick off for the first few hours and i didn't particully enjoy the tunes until Mark Smith started playing. Mixman played a good set with some old classix. Watching everyone go cheesey mental to shooting star around me was one of the highlights. Personally my favorite set of the night was Dave Skywalker b2b with Mixman. Some banging tunes. I got quite excited when the start of 6 days, Jimmy J % Cru-L-T, kicked in and was gutted when it cut out. Sadly mixman lightweighted and feel asleep ;o) and another DJ stepped in which ment the end of the '95-'96 and 6 days was no more.

Unfortunatly the group of people i was with didn't enjoy the night as much, due to the lack of ravers and a poor sound system. However, the ravers that were there were quality. A very friendly atmosphere. A few more ravers to add to my buddy list. Quite a few people made lots of effort made with costums and it was good to see them displaying them up on the stage dancing away.

I would definatly try and it make it down to the next one, if you haven't been been before then give it ago! :oD

thanks for the positive review, glad you had a good time, the vibe in there was wicked, it could of done with a few more people and we tried so hard to get the place packed, but it really didn't help with freeformation on the night b4. As our next event in January is free I'm sure it will be rammo.
as for the sound system, this is totally down to the venue and I wasn't too pleased either, especially upstairs :(

I appriciate the sound system was the venue. I didn't really notice it down stairs tbh, prob cos i haven't been out to an all night rave in three months, but yer upstairs could have benifited from some sound proofing from downstairs as well.

Jacks is a good venue and i think it will benifit out of this world, particually until it gets a larger following.

oi FCKN oi twas a wkd night the atmosphere was good but could have and should have been alot better all the ravers who missed out what a mistake they made lol happy nation is still gonna b going no matter what with all the support it has from it's followers and they do know how to make the ravers rock all night

Hey.. That wasnt lightweighted lol.. Poor No Sweat got stuck on the way down, and didnt get much of a set.. And despite the fact that I spent months gagging to get B2B with Dave once again, I gave up the rest of my set so that Rory could get a bit more play time :)

And that sound system upstairs!! raa lol. You wouldnt believe the nightmare I had trying to get that thing turned up!

twas a great night yeah it was a shame about sound system but hey we learn by all that happens it can only get bigger and better roll on the 12th of january !! cant wairt to get together with everyone again

Totally agree with Nova... Had a fucking excellent time! Could have done with a few more bodies, but the ones that were there definatly made up for it.

I met some wonderful people, did lots of bouncing (mainly off the walls) and now feel passionatly that EVERYONE NEEDS TO GO TO THE NEXT ONE (and buy me drinks)

was a wicked night and weekend all round met some wicked people big up the happynation massive you know who you are roll on things to come in the new year see you lot soon for some more madness :)

Ufortunately I had trouble getting into it at first, think it was a combination of going to my mates event on Thursday and spending most of Friday cracking on and then being knackered from travelling all over the country Thursday/Friday and Saturday.

I'm getting too old for all this.

Shame there wasn't as many people as hoped but not too suprising with Freeformation the night before and also being so close to Christmas and lots of people going to festive parties etc.

Sets of the night for me were Dougal and Marc Smith really enjoyed those.

Shame I missed Mixmans set in the main room sounds like I would've enjoyed that.

Big up all the ravers, DJ's and MC's that attended and big up OOTW and Happy Nation for putting the event on.

What an awesome night!! i lived it up on the stage, enojoyed the tuneage and it was so nice to see everyone there!!! bigup the happy nation crew!!!
