Who the fuck are you and how long have you been doing what you do best?

Mixman: My name is DJ Mixman, and I have been running away from scarey women for about 7 years now.

Lyrical: I’m Joe a.k.a the Lyrical Groover MC. I’ve been trying my hand at MC’ing on and off for 14 years… but as Lyrical Groover for around 11 or so of these now. How long have I been doing what I do best??? Hmm.. Well to be honest girl, the thing that I do best is make a complete tit of myself.. so seeing as I’m 26 years old.. then I’d say 26 and a bit years!!!

How long have you been working together and can you see yourselves working with anyone else?

Mixman: I was first introcuded to Lyrical @ Origin at the start of 2006, and I was impressed straight away with his ability to hype the crowd! Full of energy, randomness, and love for the music and the people! He does talk complete and utter shit sometimes, but we love him for it. I think that if I did try to work with anyone else, I would get beaten with his handbag (see question 1)

Lyrical: Well to be fair we’d spoken in the forum of an internet radio station but didn’t actually meet until February of this year. Straight away we clicked.. well I say clicked.. he walked past me on stage with his record box and I got tangled up in his hair like a bit of old Hubba Bubba does and I’m still kind’a caught up in the locks!!!

I am quite unfaithful to Mixman.. he calls me a whore because I will “MC” with anyone who wants me.. his words not mine.. he’s the jealous type ya see!!! I am becoming more known around the UK for MC’ing to Hardcore but what a lot of people don’t realize is that I also MC regularly to Garage, Breaks, Techno and the odd bit of Drum & Bass too.. so I have a lot of solo work of my own.

OK, so we have established that you are a pair of shit hot entertainers, but what makes you so special apart from the fact that you make me so moist?

Mixman: Well.. Just that to be honest. I feel like the dam busters.

Lyrical: What makes me so special.. I can tell you that straight off without even hesitating.. it’s my killer dance moves ya see!!! I’ve even seen you trying to mimic my killer moves wo0 so you know!!! Who needs stage dancers when I’m on the mic.. Twisted Bliss.. I shit ‘em.. only joking.. love ya ladies.. Tink, I’m still waiting for you to offer me a job!!!

So what is it with Happy Nation and is your nation really happy?

Mixman: "We alllll live in a Haaaaapyyy Naaaation.. Its all about the HNC, the Happy Nation Crew. Ive got your silver yale lock key. Come and get it or I will fucking burgle ya!"

Lyrical: Yeah it’s happy in the way a dysfunctional family is happy, yeah!!! Why??? Who said it aint??? Tell me and I’ll smash a brick in the cunts face!!! Peace, love and.. YOU WANNA FIGHT WITH ME!!?? Of course it’s happy.. lol!!!

I went to the last ootw and I was impressed. How did u turn a new event in to such a success?

Mixman: Because we are like you! Not the slut bit.. The bit about you being a raver!
Too many events out there are made to make money, or as a means for the DJ / Promoters to earn sets for themselves & so on. We felt that there has been something missing for some time, and it is something that we wanted to put back. This is the atmosphere from back in the day. By stripping out as much as possible of the commercial bollocks of today, we have got together as ravers to try and recreate that atmosphere.

Lyrical: I was only booked as an MC at the last event. I have always had a good laugh with the guys behind the scenes, and was approached after the last event to see if I wanted to come on board with the promotion side of the events.. and I jumped at the chance!!! I’m a raver who loves a good party.. and when your throwing a party with some of your best mates.. then you know it’s gonna be fun from start to finish!!! It’s that attitude which I believe we all share which makes ‘Out Of This World’ what it is!!!

Whats next for the pair of you?

Mixman: Not much after the weekend im afraid. I have already posted my apology to Lyrical for ruining our careers this coming Saturday. Get your pegs our people.. This set is gonna be a stinker!!

Lyrical: To make H.N.C the new R.B.C… ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha……
