Rule-breakers pack out Hat-Club NYE

This article is about Hat-Club 7 "NEW YEARS EVE !" ***SOLD OUT*** @ The Tabernacle in London (UK), Sat 31 Dec 2005

The first rule of Hat-Club - "Don't talk about Hat-Club" - has been smashed into teeny tiny pieces. The brand new club brand was conceived in London but has pulled punters in Brighton and Hamburg and their upcoming New Year's Eve gig at Tabernacle in the City sold out in less than a month.

Perhaps the second rule of Hat-Club should be "Ignore the first rule". Dj/promoter Nick Piper certainly disregards it entirely and is happy to chat about his beloved house party to anybody who cares to raise the matter.

"Selling out our New Year's Eve party is an endorsement of what we're doing. We purposely went for a venue of this size because we wanted something small and intimate. There's something about hats which takes away people's inhibitions and relaxes everyone a bit. And women look good in hats. That's the killer."

Nick (left) chooses the tunes on the night, along with a selection of other hand-picked jocks, . Promotional duties are shared with the Brighton-based Dave Mitchell who devotes his entire working week to his beloved club. Dan Evans and Dave Weeds, with his massive DSI buddy list, make up the awesome foursome.

Hat-Club will be the hit club in 2006.
