For anyone who's interested, there is an exhibition going on at the TATE Modern at the moment as part of the Unilever Series: Doris Salcedo's 'Shibboleth'. The installation consists of a large crack throughout the turbine hall meant to represent the pain of division that arises from racism and colonialism.

my friend actually fell down it in her hurry to cross the the entrance part of the turbine hall. DOH! bless
