Well I always find starting a new residency adds an extra layer of nerves to running a party (as if the general anxiety wasn’t enough!) so come 9pm on Friday I was starting to feel the tension a little more than usual. However, I couldn’t have hoped for better from our first event at the newly refurbished White House. A near-capacity crowd thronged in to see Tim Healy, James Harcourt and the Spin Out Residents rock the dancefloor hard, and the great atmosphere and general fun had by all was a tribute to how great the DJs were.

Having got the party started with some electro grooves I made way for James Harcourt about 11pm who proceeded to tear the place apart with some of his trademark twisted house. His set was definitely one of the highlights of the evening. Following James was always going to be hard work but Tim Healey did a magnificent job, giving the crowd a heavy dose of what has made Coburn such well loved performers worldwide. Electro-indie-house crossover was the order of the day, with the Gossip, Klaxons and Tommy Sunshine all getting rotation.

As always the crowd was the usual Spin Out friendly bunch and it was fantastic to see so many old friends and familiar faces there. Also a mention has to go to the venue management and staff, particularly Carolina and Clive, who were so helpful and professional throughout. It made promoting an enjoyable experience, something which is not always the case!! All in all it was a great night and we’re already looking forward to the next one on the 28th September which will see Deepgroove take to the decks. Hope you can all make it again.
