News from the hotbox team

The final round was due to take place on the 23rd September at the Whitehouse, but there has been a slight change of plan to the format of the competition. I have consulted the judges and we have come to the conclusion: in order to give the DJ’s that have made it through more of a chance to impress the judges and hence more of a chance of winning in the final and we have decided to introduce 2 semi finals. This way all the DJ’s thru so far will have a longer set times in the semi final and in the final. So instead of the difficult task of choosing between 12 extremely good DJ’s based on a 30 minute set, on one night and coming up with one winner in the final, DJ’s will have more of a chance playing against 6 DJ’s in one of the 2 semi finals where the top 3 DJ’s from each semi final will go thru to the final with one wild card place.

So the 12 finalists have been split into groups of 6 to play in 2 semi finals.

1st Semi final will be held on the 23rd September @ the Whitehouse:

Andy Boph
Amy Taylor
Dirty Little Funcker
Rustic Groove
Jay Ardee
Sugarshaker

2nd Semi final (date and venue still to be confirmed!)

Concept
Tyrone Life
Little Jo
John Kirven
Dave Joyce
Wild card Heat 3 (sill to be announced!)

The final will be held in November potentially at a different venue still to be announced , this will more than likely be a Saturday night at one of London’s bigger night clubs. So something bigger and better to look forward to!
