Saturday 14th February saw LICKED take on Clapham’s coolest venue, THE WHITEHOUSE, for our Valentine’s event. With the gorgeous DJ LOTTIE (Manumission / Space Ibiza Resident) headlining the Main Room and the lovely LIZZIE CURIOUS headlining the upstairs room, along with Licked ‘head honchos’ JASON CHANCE + ROB LOCO and all the other guest DJs/Licked residents, there was a big buzz about this night well in advance of the event. With Licked bringing in our ‘trademark’ full club décor (supplied by Rob Loco’s ‘ENHANCED EVENTS’) across both floors, our aim was to totally transform the venue and try to put on the kind of party that would blow people away – that was the intention anyway! We have the most loyal, lovely, up-for-it bunch of clubbers you’re likely to come across and had been excited (but also nervous) about this for a good couple of months. Needless to say we shouldn’t have worried because our djs and clubbers didn’t disappoint…..

It’s hard to do a review when there is so much to talk about; but the long story short is that Rob and I were the ones that were blown away by the outcome! We had such a fun night guys – thank you all SO much. When I rocked up around 9pm, I saw Rob’s décor for the first time and thought The Whitehouse looked amazing; we went for a real Valentine’s feel, with themed projections, images, décor, inflatables etc. Extra lighting and lasers were brought in for both floors too and it looked awesome….the scene was set! GOOD WORK MR LOCO!

The place started filling up really early and it was obvious it was going to be a special night – the music was building at the right pace in both rooms and I have to say that from a dj/promoters point of view, all the djs absolutely nailed their sets all night long; with each set seeming to build really well from the previous (just how I like it when I’m clubbing!). It was just so busy too and the best thing about it, was that the place was just buzzing with positivity, good vibes and energy – and wicked tuneage! I tried my best to catch a little bit of each dj’s but often had to take refuge in the dj booth in the main room…just so I had a bit of space to jump around and soak it all up!! In the upstairs electro room we had a night full of Licked debuts from Andy Collings, Sonny Taylor, The DirtyTwins (Sam Fitch & Lee Picton) and our lovely electro headliner Lizzie Curious – and they all rocked it! I’m really pleased they all got to play to a busy floor too and you can see how much fun they’re all having, just by noseying at the photo galleries (especially you Miss Curious – some fab pix of you loving it!). Every one of them messaged me afterwards to say what an amazing crowd we have and how fun they were to play to.

Downstairs in the main room we had more great sets from Phat Jules, Lee Alexander, Si Mac (all 3 making their Licked debut too) and James Wilkinson. Myself + Rob Loco had a stint too and then there was Manumission & Space resident and all-round lovely lady, our main headliner LOTTIE. Anyone who was there for her set will tell you how awesome she was; from start to finish her tune selection was spot on and she kept telling me what an amazing vibe there was in the place. She texted me after the gig to say she felt she had just been part of a really special event and how much she had loved the night; you just have to check the photos again to see she has a massive, massive smile across her face in every piccie – but then again so does everyone else!

The Whitehouse were having to turn people away as it was so busy and we heard the cloakroom even ran out of coat hangers, it was that busy!!! Most pleasing was that the good vibes stayed right through till we closed….there were people still queuing to get in at 3am too! It was just one of those nights where all I remember were happy people and smiling faces. We can’t thank all the djs and Licked clubbers enough for all their support. Then there was my big sis Cri on the door (amazing job sis!), my lovely Amy (what a rock), our décor staff, Marc De Groot (legend!) and the other spotters, our till girl, all our closest mates (aka the Licked family – you know who you are) and also all the staff @ The Whitehouse; they have been so supportive of us and made it a real pleasure to work with them. As far as debuts go, LICKED couldn’t have asked for anymore from ours – it really was an unforgettable night.

BIG LICKED LOVE to all our friends, djs & clubbers. This is the start of the next chapter and we think its quite safe to say….

Hey paul - all cool bro....but u did miss a wicked nite!! WHAT AN AMAZING NIGHT!!!

it took me an hour to properly thaw out once i got home (roll on summer!) and although i wasn`t inside with all you lot, i still enjoyed the buzz of the night, even from the queues outside (and there were some serious queues at points!) and could hear the stomping tunes all night. Lottie kept saying how much she enjoyed playing to the Licked crowd and how up for it everyone was. what a wicked buzz!

good job boys - think you exceeded the usual high expectations this time :)

MASSIVE thanks for all the messages guys & girls. Loads of hard work went into the night and its really pleasing to see the work pay off. I just didn't want the night to end! A Valentine's to remember, that was :)
