FNUK boat party article on Clubtickets.com

The Dutch Master will depart this Saturday carrying 350 of the FNUK party crew. But will they all make it back?

To the best of his knowledge, dj Millska aka Rich E. Miller says no-one has fallen off at one of the famous FNUK boat parties. Which is lucky because if you accidentally plunged into London's Thames at this time of the year you'd only have two minutes before hypothermia rendered you incapable of movement and you drowned.

It would be a horrible way to go, and embarrassing if you're fished out dressed like Fred Flintstone or the curiously attractive Betty Rubble. As you may have gathered the theme for this Saturday is contained in the title - it's the FNUK Prehistoric Floaty Boaty Ball.

FNUK Floaty Boaty BallYour venue for the evening is the lavishly appointed and centrally heated Dutch Master. The three-decked ship is described as "the perfect all-weather party vessel" and is fitted out with a fully-stocked bar and dj-approved sound system.

Entertainment this weekend will provided by Dj Di Casa, Ian Cole, Mark Davis, Mowgli, Jonni Jones, Oli Smiles and Jus Joss.

Millska tells us the team is "all about music and they all rock. We're serious about about music but we're all about fun. We like everyone to get involved." Rich isn't necessarily interested in booking someone with "the latest music that came out two seconds ago".

"A good dj who makes the crowd go away at the end with a smile of their face having had the best night of their life," he says inspiringly. "All of our djs are crowd-driven. The main thing is the crowd."

www.clubtickets.com: Where are you currently at musically?

Millska: It's gonna be a bit electro-y. It'll probably start off quite funky. Whatever place we play it will always have a funky element. We're not there to educate, we're there to entertain.

He's been doing that since he started spinning at the Red Lion in Kent, where he put on parties for three years.

"Its a strange place the Red Lion. It's like a hall welded to the side of bikers boozer on an industrial estate, with a massive sound system and four o'clock closing. Pete Tong designed upstairs and Giles Peterson designed the basement. It hasn't had a refit since then."

Paul Croucher and Rich MillerSix years ago FNUK was born with the aid of Rich's promoter midwife Paul Croucher (with glasses), a "quiet chap" who facilitates the technical side. The success of the venture led to residencies at prestigious capital venues Pacha, Turnmills and Egg, gigs in Ibiza and slots alongside David "Fuck Him He's Famous" Guetta and house music originator Frankie Knuckles.

However Rich (with beard) denies ever abusing his privileges in the industry by taking advantage of easily impressed nubile females.

"I might be a dj and I take photos but I'm ugly."

When pressed about his image Mr Miller names Tom Middleton as his facial hair hero - "He's always got a cracking beard."

Unlike many promoters, Millska is hoping word about this weekend doesn't spread too far. Too much hype and the boat would sink.

"If we had every single person who turn up to our parties all in one go, you'd get 3,500 people."

Add your buds please people!! :-)
