Team Ascherl's Turnmill's Adventure
Thirty members of dontstayin.com’s Team Ascherl piled onto a coach from Brighton to support DJ Dan Ascherl during his set for the Gallery at Turnmills. Hard trance had the Team bouncing on the journey and by the time they arrived in Farringdon to go to the club, the Team was psyched up for a night packed with amazing tunes and hours of dancing.

They weren’t disappointed by what they found. For several in Team A it was their first visit to Turnmills, which added to the excitement of the night. Other members of the Team joined the Brighton contingency in the club from other parts of the country – making the Team close to being fifty-strong that night.

The Gallery was a complete sell-out. But with the main room line-up of Paul Oakenfold, Seb Fontaine, Gavyn Mytchel, Dan Ascherl, and Gary Ramsden, it was only to expected.

The clubbers were dancing wherever they could find space to stand, with the main dance-floor a solid mass of bodies. And they were still dancing at eight in the morning when the lights came up.

Oakenfold, Mytchel and Ramsden all play fantastic sets, Fontaine’s was less convincing though. However that was made up for by Ascherl’s trance classics set. When he played a remix of Insomnia, the dance-floor went insane with renewed energy, despite it being past 7am – a good eight hours since they started dancing.

In the second room, Tania von Pear, Tom Real, Richard Launch, Alex Parsons and Justin Steel enticed the dancers with funky house which had the clubbers dancing constantly.

As the clubbers poured into the street at gone 8am, there was an audible consensus it had been one of the best Gallery events many had attended. Those who’d never been before swore they’d go again if it was going to be like that.

Danced out, the Brighton members of Team A poured themselves back onto their coach and began the journey home. Many dozed in their seats, or settled down to chilled conversations. But most were ready to continue at an after-party once back in Sussex.

All in all, the Team’s first mass-outing was a huge success, with many happy clubbers ready to follow wherever Dan Ascherl – and his promoter, Jaxs – lead them.

Dan Ascherl will be playing at the Honey Club on Saturday 28th January for the final Seven Sins before the club’s re-fit; and at The Gallery at the Honey Club in Brighton on 24 March 2006 with Smith & Pleger, Gavyn Mytchel and Ciaran McCarthy.
