Following some unforgettable nights at River in Maidstone, Drift in Portsmouth and the Ministry Of Sound in London, Futurism continues to showcase the UK’s very best up-and-coming underground dance acts with a visit to one of the world’s greatest nightspots (the 3rd greatest according to DJ Mag), the legendary Turnmills on Friday 2nd June. Futurism will take over Turnmills third room (T3) for a night of electronic house beats, twisted breaks and sublime tech grooves, in a room that has hosted many incredible acts in 2006 including Roni Size, Meat Katie, Elite Force and Chicken Lips.
Headlining the room is Dave Robertson, who will be showcasing his prolific live act at Turnmills for the very first time. Dave has been winning fans the world over as a result of his show stopping performances at events like Punchfunk and the High Tide boat parties and following major radio and DJ support of his productions from Pete Tong, Fergie, Nic Fanciulli, Nick Warren and Lee Burridge. He will be joined by production partner and fellow Turnmills debutant Jon Gurd, who following his outstanding DJ perfomances in 2006 at ClubClass at The Ministry Of Sound, Mint Club in Leeds and Jambossa in Liverpool, as well as his superb studio work which consistently bombards the Beatport and DJ download charts, is set to kick six bells out of T3.
Nick Liousias on the other hand is a regular face at Turnmills having appeared both behind and infront of their turntables on many unforgettable occasions. His performance coincides with the release of his new EP in conjunction with Futurism’s Luke Dzierzek titled ‘Random’s & Wrongen’s’. Following support from Sasha, Dave Seaman (who featured ‘Randoms’ on his recent Renaissance compilation), Danny Howells and Paul Woolford, this looks set to be one of Silver Planets biggest releases of 2006 and help further establish Liousias as one of the UK’s finest DJ prospects.
Another addition to this excellent lineup is Mark Fanciulli, the younger brother of Turnmills favourite Nic. Aged only 19 Mark is already forging his own path in the dance music world following tremendous performances at his Breakpoint night where he has starred alongside the likes of Stanton Warriors, Clive Morley (Platform 12) and Makai (Product). In addition to Futurism, Mark looks forward to future Breakpoint nights at Dusk Till Dawn in Bournemouth (16th June) and the Ministry in London (15th July), where his broken house sound will also be in full flow.
Completing the lineup is tech house and breaks maestro and resident at Deep South and Babyshake Duncan K. In the last twelve months alone Duncan has played alongside many of the greatest names in the underground scene including Nathan Coles, Soul Of Man, Jay Tripwire, Ali B, Eddie Richards, Sian (Pokerflat) and Lawnchair Generals and is delighted to feature at Futurism in what will be his first significant set at Turnmills in 2006.
In addition to the DJs we also welcome The Rebel Beat Faction who will be delivering a killer dose of mind bending visuals throughout the night. Their nights at River in Maidstone have been exceptional to say the least and they will be pulling out all the stops to make sure that their London debut lives long in the memory.
So if you're after an onslaught of futuristic filth courtesy of the UKs next generation of superstar DJs make sure you check this out. Futurism at Turnmills. Let the mayhem commence...
