Dave Seaman Interview
Dave you return to The Gallery on 9th June, how the devil have you been? I’ve been devilishly good thanks. Getting ready for this week. Sixth of the sixth of the sixth and all that.
How has 2006 been so far, what have you been up to so far this year? It’s been great. I got amazing reactions to the Renaissance Masters CD. Some of the best reviews I’ve ever had which considering this was my 21st official mix compilation, it made an old man very happy.
And what have you got planned for the rest of the year? I’m just starting to compile for the Therapy sessions Volume 3 compilation which I’m doing with Lexicon Avenue and is due out in October plus I’m in the Studio at the moment working on a new single and remixes for Infusion and LoStep. Oh and I nearly forgot, My Mrs is pregnant again, so I’ll be off on Daddy duty at the end of the summer!
What keeps bringing you back to The Gallery time after time? It’s the best Friday night in London. Always consistently good, it’s become a quarterly ritual for me. A chance to meet up with all my friends in London and have the most fun DJing to a crowd that’s always open and receptive to new music. You’ve only got to look at the Gallery line ups to realize how important it is to the fabric of London clubbing. And world clubbing for that matter!
Tell us who has really impressed you this year as up and coming producers and / or djs? Gabriel Ananda, Luetzenkirchen, Mashtronic, Radioslave, Jaytech & Matt Rowan have all been on top form. The Ellen Alien & Apparat stuff has been amazing too.
And which country do you think is where its all going to go off big time next around the world? Brazil is looking hot at the moment. It’s really competing now with it’s neighbour Argentina which has been amazing for a good few years now. Japan is also really promising. It’s the second biggest music market in the world and it is only really now starting to fulfill it’s potential.
Finally some quick fire questions, tell us the most untrue rumour you have ever heard about yourself? That I turned Robbie Williams into a cocaine addict.
If you had to be left on a desert island with a Technics 1210 what 3 tunes would you take with you? Status Quo ‘Living on an Island’ Police ‘Message in a Bottle’ The Animals ‘We gotta get out of this place’
And finally favourite summer lollypop? It’s a close call between a Fab and a Minimilk!
