Now in its fifth year, the Movida Corona contest aims to showcase the best up-and-coming club and bedroom DJs, acting as a recognised launch-pad onto the international stage. More than 500 mixing masters from the across the UK battled it out in last year’s competition and organisers are expecting even more this year.

The road to the Movida Corona world final – and the chance to compete against winners from more than 70 countries – starts with a series of heats in clubs and bars across the country.

Local mixing masterminds will show off their talent on the turntables and the winner will go on to a regional final.

That then leads onto the Movida Corona UK final at London superclub Ministry of Sound and the chance for the ultimate prize of a place in the world championship, which last year took place in Morocco.
