Over the years, Turnmills has created a rich history for house music. From the legendary London Calling and Metrogroove parties with Danny Rampling… to the Miami/New York/Paris/Chicago/Milan and Ibiza ‘Calling’ series that followed… City Loud’s glorious 4 year run with CJ Mackintosh… the irresistible Release Yourself featuring exclusive 10 Hour sets from Roger Sanchez… and most recently, The Disco-Tech of Bob Sinclar with the dapper Monsieur Sinclar himself. So here now is NOCTURNAL; a slick new night of house music hedonism brought to life by UK masters The Shapeshifters, their Nocturnal Groove record label and a glittering selection of artists hand-picked from around the globe.

Launching its exclusive Turnmills residency on Easter Saturday 7th April, NOCTURNAL begins as it means to go on with a heavyweight line-up featuring label head-honchos The Shapeshifters leading the charge. The NOCTURNAL parties are of course an extension to the guys Nocturnal Groove record label. A place to showcase the artists and producers on the label whilst servicing their own need to hear and get down to the music they love! Since it’s conception in 2003, the parties have grown and spawned an army of regular Nocturnal Groovers that have enjoyed the unique house sound now synonymous with The Shapeshifters, alongside some of the scene’s finest - Frankie Knuckles, CJ Mackintosh, Michael Gray, ATFC, Inland Knights, Jon Cutler and Nic Fanciulli to name a few. In short, Nocturnal has created a consistent party atmosphere unrivaled in the capital. The music policy is very much about The Shapeshifters’ take on all things ‘House’. It’s not genre specific; it’s all about the quality of production and a records ability to make you wanna dance!

The first party then is a bit of an Easter Extravaganza and a perfect time for the boys to go LARGE… “Although we loved our last home” say The Shapeshifters, “we wanted to move forward and find a bigger venue with a great sound system, not an easy task! So we looked for the right people who we trusted to take the night forward with us, who understood exactly what we as DJs and label owners are all about and work with us to supply the capitals finest House night. Turnmills has a great history of supplying great house events and is all about the music. It always sounds great and has the ability to generate an amazing atmosphere. Nocturnal is also known for it’s visual environment and the venue offers us more capability to expand on that aspect of the night also.”

As will be the tradition for all future NOCTURNAL events, The Shapeshifters will man the main room decks for an extended 4 Hour Set, backed up by one of the world’s leading house jocks. For their first outing at Turnmills, that responsibility falls to Defected’s debonair Frenchman Martin Solveig – one of the most talented and original DJ/Producers around. Since exploding onto the scene a few years ago, Solveig has released a number of classic dancefloor cuts including ‘Rocking Music, Everybody, Jealousy’ and ‘I’m a Good Man’. There’s plenty more of the good stuff on the way in 2007, but before all that, get ready as Solveig plays his first UK date of the year. Shindig residents and Nocturnal Groove producers Mardel joins the party in the main room, whilst a short shuffle away in T2 the quality continues. Remixer of choice and star of the future - Martijn Ten Velden gets his hands dirty on the decks, backed up by a stellar supporting cast of Nottingham’s finest deep housers Inland Knights, Radio 1 residents Trophy Twins and fellow Nocturnal Groover Simon Hawes.

With this hot new London residency to get their teeth into, a second artist album planned for the summer (with singles out before and after), plus an Ibiza compilation in the pipeline… 2007 is shaping up to be something rather special for The Shapeshifters. And what with it being a NOCTURNAL party and all, the boys will be expecting a few more late nights too!
