The end of the month is here again and that can only mean one thing – it’s time for another Gallery Blockbuster of an evening! The date you ask, is Friday 23rd February and the talent? Well, how does Above & Beyond and Tall Paul sound to you? Cool, thought so! Above & Beyond are undoubtedly the world’s most exciting new trance DJ/Producers of the past 5 years and the UK’s answer to the Dutch big guns like Armin, Ferry and Tiesto. Their genre-defining productions (mostly released on their own Anjunabeats label) have become an essential tool for the globe's leading DJs and in the process have set the benchmark for the new generation of dance music producers. This incredible threesome smashed their way into the No.9 spot at last year’s DJ Mag’s Top 100 Poll and they’re still very much on the trajectory, so who knows how far they can go? 2006 saw the release of their debut artist album, ‘Tri-State’, to critical acclaim and they capped off a brilliant year with a headline set at The Gallery’s mind-blowing sell-out NYE event at the Brixton Academy. Joining Above & Beyond will be The Gallery’s own superstar resident, the one and only Tall Paul – who like A&B played at Brixton on NYE. 2006 was another hectic year of touring and production for the big fella and 2007 looks set to go the same way with another hectic schedule planned and a plethora of new releases in the pipeline. Dutch duo Rank 1 play a guest appearance in support. Best known for their ‘Airwave’ tune, the guys have since released countless other big hitters and continue to tour the globe week in, week out. The Gallery’s Gavyn Mytchel continues his weekly residency, as he plays last (but by no means least!), with Sam Charles getting his chance to warm up the floor early doors.

There’s still two more rooms of music to enjoy courtesy of the housey feel-good vibes of Steve Lee’s Joy party in T2 and Kinetec Record’s purist techno in T3. For Joy this month, Steve brings in man about town Guy Williams – DTPM resident and partner in new London promotion Black Rabbit, plus lady spinner Angel to add an air of beauty to the fu*ked-up funk. Meanwhile in T3, Kinetec’s residency is going from strength to strength after show-stopping sets from the likes of Cave and D.A.V.E The Drummer in recent months. For the February bash, special guest Killian leads the charge, backed up by Kinetec’s ferocious residents Dave Randall, Thermobee and James Kinetec. Immense.

Don't Stay In mix of the week
