Fresh from the epic 14-hour-DJ-marathon that was the 1st Birthday in January, Together rides again on Saturday 24th February fresh-faced and ready to rumble alongside the ball-achingly hip Modular Records – who join us for one of the most hotly-tipped parties of the year!! So then, for one night only MODULAR GETS TOGETHER at Turnmills featuring 5 riotous floors of the most forward-thinking electronic bleeps and guitar-lead beats around.

To mark the occasion, Modular will be throwing not one, but two exclusive album launch parties. First up will be MSTRKRFT – who are in town to plug their debut LP ‘The Looks’. The Canadian duo (Jesse was one half of noise-rock duo Death From Above 1979, whilst partner in crime Al-P produced DFA 1979’s libidinous debut album ‘You’re A Woman, I’m A Machine’) made their UK DJ debut at Together back in January 2006 in Room 3 and now 13 months later the boys return as main room headliners, such has been their rise to the top. Having flexed their remix skills upon the likes of The Gossip, Wolfmother, Para One and All Saints, it’s their rawkus, in-yer-face DJ sets which has also brought MSTRKRFT huge acclaim… especially after their sell-out show at Canvas late last year!! The second album launch on the night will be Leave Them All Behind 2 – the follow up to 2005’s hugely successful compilation. The second instalment brings you the sound that has defined indie dancefloors and clubland in 2006 spread over two discs (one mixed / one unmixed), featuring tracks and remixes from the likes of The Gossip, Klaxons, MSTRKRFT, New Young Pony Club and CSS. Both albums are released on Monday 26th February.

Back to the music then and one of the most mouth-watering line-ups ever from the Together clan. Starting in the main room, where MSTRKRFT will be joined on the decks by a genuine legend and pioneer of the techno and electronic scenes. Jump up and make some noise for Green Velvet aka Cajmere. Famed for his green hair back in the day and his cult spine-tingling, head-f*cking ‘La La Land’ track, GV remains as iconic and important today as he was when he first gate-crashed onto the scene all those years ago. Next in line is Superfreq star Mr C, who makes a rare appearance outside of his home at The End, with the early slot looked after with care by Rekids Records’ Toby Tobias – one of our tips for 2007! Completing this messy main room affair will be Bang Gang superstar Ajax. Quite the dude is ol’ Ajax; and Australia’s No.1 DJ will let rip for an unmissable 45 minute set on the big system, preceded by another infectious mix over in the Modular Room. Trust us, Ajax is one of the most original and exciting DJs the Together crew has ever heard and having chased him for a date for the best part of a year, we’re very happy to finally get our man (twice!) Yippppeeeeeeeeeeeee…

So onto the Modular Room then with the show-stopping Ajax leading the charge, backed up by a who’s who of whose hot right now on the indie and disco punk scene. All the featured guests are either artists, friends or drinking partners of the Modular gang, so as expected they’ve pulled out all the stops. Swapping guitars and microphones for CDJ’s and 1210’s, Modular have brought in The Gossip, Klaxons and New Young Pony Club for a spot of DJ jiggery. The Gossip will literally be coming off the stage at their sell-out Astoria gig to hit the decks for their ‘official after party’. The US punkers are one of the hottest bands of the moment. Lead singer Beth Ditto was recently selected by NME as the coolest person in rock on the rag’s annual 'Cool List' and their smash hit ‘Standing in the way of Control’ is currently dominating the Channel 4 airwaves to promote their new youth series – ‘Skins’. Klaxons meanwhile keep the glow-stick boys and girls happy with their second DJ outing at Together in successive months, riding high on the wave of their huge ‘Golden Scans’ track and a glorious 2006. Modular faves New Young Pony Club (and makers of Together anthem ‘Ice Cream’) also deliver the beats you need to hear, alongside the labels own resident rockers.

There’s still more too!! Over in T2, the intimate club-within-a-club witnesses a very special live set from Parisian prince Para One who heads across the pond. Signed to uber-cool French label Institubes, Para One is the name on everyone’s lips following his Daft Punk remixes and his own masterpiece ‘Dundun-Dun’ taken from his damn fine ‘Epiphanie’ album. The Mercury-nominated DIY electro-poppers Hot Chip give us a ‘Warning’ with a jackin’ house mash-up, backed up by Together resident and Squadron leader Justin Robertson – who makes a rare outing to T2. Fellow ressies Anil Chawla and Mike Oman also get in on the act. Elsewhere party people Fishseeksbicyle host more fun and games in the cinema lounge and more crazy laughing gas biznizz, whilst upstairs the Together All-Stars – The Scarlet Pimp Vs Mannequin, 10:4 Rubber Duckie and Nikolas Esselle – get even sillier with a comedy soundtrack of 80s pop, TV themes and party games!! This month’s Fancy Dress theme is MILITARY (think Army, Navy, Red Squadron, Marines, Navy Seals, Air Force, KGB, FBI, MI6, Old Bill, Para Trooper, Queens Guard, mini Hitler’s, Beefeater and so on!!) As ever, prizes will be awarded to the ‘Best Dressed’. Oh yeah, plus there’s a FREE AFTER PARTY too…
