Is it really the end of the month already? Well, yes it is actually. And to celebrate this marvellous feat The Gallery have joined forces with uber-trance-label Anjunabeats to bring you one biggest and baddest line-ups of the year so far. On Friday 25th May, The Gallery rolls out a Bank Holiday Special to be proud of as the majestic Above & Beyond (that’s 3 times the fun!) take over for an exclusive 3 Hour Set. Oh baby. Above & Beyond are undoubtedly the world’s most exciting new trance DJ/Producers of the past 5 years and the UK’s answer to the Dutch big guns like Armin, Ferry and Tiesto. They gatecrashed DJ Mag’s Top 10 (no.9) in 2006’s prestigious Top 100 poll and continue to push the boundaries ever more. Their genre-defining productions (mostly released on their own Anjunabeats label) have become an essential tool for the globe's leading DJs and in the process have set the benchmark for the new generation of dance music producers. 2006 saw the release of their debut artist album, ‘Tri-State’, to critical acclaim and 2007 looks set to be their biggest year yet. Watch this space!

Anjunabeats is the UK’s fastest growing dance label and home to acclaimed producers/DJ’s Above & Beyond (that’s Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamaki) and their many alter egos. Anjunabeats was formed when Jono Grant and Paavo Siljamaki met at Westminster University and discovered a mutual love of electronic music. The pair kicked off the label in 2000 with ‘Anjunabeats Volume 1’, a massive club success which instantly ear-pricked the likes of Pete Tong, Paul Oakenfold and Paul van Dyk. The bomb had dropped and the Anjunabeats name was firmly on the map. Soon afterwards Jono and Paavo became friends with fellow producer Tony McGuinness and together the three went on to form Above & Beyond. When the Above & Beyond remix of Chakra ‘Home’ reached number one in the UK club charts, the trio had many of the world’s leading labels knocking at their door, offering some interesting remix opportunities. The most exciting came from Madonna, who invited the boys to give ‘What It Feels Like For A Girl’ the Above & Beyond treatment. As Above & Beyond’s profile as artists grew, so did the Anjunabeats label. It provided the perfect outlet for their numerous production projects – Oceanlab, Aalto, Freestate, Nitromethane, POS, Rollerball and Tranquillity Base – and every release was warmly received by elite DJ’s and club-goers across the globe. New signings have included Finnish trance maestro Super8, Swedish production prodigy ‘Endre’, and Dutch Deep Tech Genius, Stephen J.Kroos… who graces the main room this week. Talented UK duo Smith & Pledger have also been snapped up by the label and the label now stands proudly as one of the most influential labels in dance music today.

Gallery lifelong DJ and all round superstar Sister Bliss makes a cheeky appearance before the Faithless world tour kicks in, plus there’ll be more dancefloor firepower from fellow resident Gavyn Mytchel and rising star Dave Horne. Meanwhile over in T2, The Gallery’s leading man and top dogg Tall Paul swaps rooms for the night as he drops by to play a ‘house set’ for Steve Lee’s ‘Joy’ party. Joy is of course the Balearic inspired session that lords up the housey beats to the fullest, so having Tall Paul make a rare guest turn will be extra special indeed!! The evening’s entertainment finishes up in T3 where we welcome the launch party for Tweak&Bleep. As the name suggests the T&B crew are rather loud and rocky (on a breaks tip), so step forward the perfect guest for the opener – DJ Hyper from Kilowatt Recordings. Tweak&Bleep also play, with support from Far Too Loud, Slackshot and DJ Acidic.
