Back once again with the ill behaviour, Paulette heads up T2 with a rare and much anticipated London appearance, you’d be a fool to miss it!

Over the coming weeks, Party Proactive will be feeding you tantalising profiles of our special guests, starting right here, right now with the lady in question…DJ Paulette.

Born and raised in Manchester, Paulette, the youngest of 8 was developing a love for music from an early age, soaking up the sounds played by her older siblings such as Diana Ross, David Bowie, and Earth Wind and Fire. She was just 12 years old when her first vinyl purchase occurred, and a love affair with the black plastic began that continues to this very day.

As time passed by, like a moth to a flame, Paulette immersed herself within cutting edge culture, soaking up the latest fashions, dancing the nights away, and steadily building her knowledge of the burgeoning UK dance music scene. Before long, she landed a DJ booking at the super successful NO 1 Club in Manchester which soon led to a defining residency at the legendary Hacienda venue, spinning at the Flesh parties.

Paulette soon gained notoriety and it wasn’t long before she outgrew her Northern roots and a move down to London was inevitable. At this time, she undertook residencies at the infamous Heaven venue and Brighton’s Zap Club and the scene was set for world domination!

Paulette continued to build a strong reputation as an all round performer- a girl who connected with the audience as well as the music. DJ bookings began to pour in and Paulette found herself spinning for Ministry of Sound parties, Fabric, The Cross and Neighbourhood in West London. In tandem with her burgeoning DJ career, Paulette began to work behind the scenes, taking an A&R position with Azuli Records whilst also working on the publicity launch for Defected Records.

In life, change can often bring consequences, and so this was to be the case when Paulette up sticks and moved herself over to Paris in 2004. Leaving behind friends and family and the safety of her life in the UK, Paulette relished the opportunities that Paris offered and it was not long before she bagged her first residency at the infamous Redlight venue in Montmartre along with a high profile weekly radio show on RadioFG. Her music tastes also underwent rejuvenation, moving towards the tougher, energy sounds of electro. Paulette is quoted as saying she ‘fell back in love with DJing again’!

With her megawatt smile and boundless energy, Paris took a shine to Paulette and her DJ career has gone from strength to strength. She now resides at the grandiose Mix, France’s answer to the super club where she hosts her own ‘One Night with Paulette’ soirees alongside international guests such as Laurent Garnier, Smokin’ Jo and Laidback Luke. With a busy schedule that sees her taking in the best parties in Europe and beyond, alongside her much vaunted radio shows on FG and Pacha, Paulette is becoming something of an icon for the Paris dance generation!

You can catch Paulette’s weekly RadioFG show every Sunday morning from 1am till 2am (GMT) on www.radiofg.com
